I got the new He-Man cartoon DVD set for Christmas. Am watching with my sisters, [livejournal.com profile] rykaine and [livejournal.com profile] jolena. Rykaine posed an interesting question -- who the fuck builds the villian strongholds? Especiallyone like this, some tall spiraling thing with a massive stone dragon on top. How long would that take? What would it cost? And Jolena says that there must be a rule about not attacking villians until their HG's are finished.

That would be a funny story, the architect for an evil villian. Hee hee.

Also, Sammikins has me addicted to a new show - 30 Rock. ZOMFG hilarious as goddamn hell. We died.

I bet villains cut corners buying prefab modular Lairs Of Evil. Fake stone, towering facades, shovel a few tons of dirt on top of a dungeon unit instead of digging a hole for it, etc.

Heheh. Modulairs: building Supervillain Castles on Henchman Budgets since 1942.

That would be an awesome story!

19th century serial killer H.H. Holmes, who I read about in Devil in the White City, hired and fired people so none of his contractors ever knew all the secrets of his house [of pain and deathtraps]. Crafty, crazy man, that one.

I think that that sounds like an awesome story concept - especially if the engineer was not evil himself. You know, just a guy needing to get paid. hehe

Maybe they tell the public it's something else like "What's this huge construction site?" "Oh, it's just the new Donald Trump hotel" and then when it opens... SURPRISE! Doom Lord's Lair of Doom!

It's easier for the evil mages - they can just conjure up their strongholds or towers or whatever. Of course, the advice would be against glass-made lairs of any kind, because rocks can;t be that hard to find.

This reminds me of the Evil Overlord list... and of your "Finder Tolan" story. *sweatdrops* Like our resident Kitty would put it, I am such a geek.

Edit: Which reminds me... have you ever done Velari and Jeter's story? I can't really remember.

I just got a picture of these people rushing up to defeat the villain "Rawwr we will beat you!!!" and the stronghold is half-constructed with the villain going "Oy, we're not done yet! Come back later!"
