Stayed hom sick

Mostly because I knew I would be nothing but unpleasant at work, and I did not want to pass the germs on if I could help it.

So am doing laundry and working on Huntsman instead. My own story is creeping me the fuck out, and making me quite ugh with myself, but I want the Queen to be evil and twisted, and so it shall be.

Sammikins gave me a virtual gift the other day, and it was so cute I had to make it an icon ^__^ Isn't he cute? *squishes him*

I wish? I mean, I knew she was going to be using sex and sex-related spells to manipulate much of the palace, but I didn't know she'd go that far. I hate when my own stories squick me out, but I guess the effect I'm going for here is x.x I mean, I like the Queen as prime evil and arrogant and willing to use any means.

I mean it freaks me out. Plenty of what I write, I don't like. I'd have to be pretty screwed up to enjoy killing people and stuff. It's just the way the story goes. At least I don't make it out to be something hot and cool? I'm kind of going for sick and twisted.

Ok, character death doesn't squick me. It might piss me off and make me sad and certainly I don't enjoy it, but it's not something that disturbs me, and it's not something I'd flat out refuse to read.

But if it's something you wouldn't like to read yourself, why write it?

Because not writing it feels like a cop out. I don't enjoy it, no. Rape should never be enjoyed, but not writing it feels like I'm coping out. I want the scene to be terrible as fuck, and I wanted this fairy tale to be a bit toward the dark.

Dude, I can recall more than one occasion where you insisted and felt differently on "Dark Fairy Tales." Last I checked, you didn't understand what everyone had against the original HEAs.

I did't say it was flat out dark, I said darker. And I happen to like plenty of dark stories, provided they don't end in fucking misery. Stephen King happens to be one of my favorite writers, and fucking Grimms are my favorite versions of most fairytales, and those are dark as hell-but they have happy endings. I'm just trying something different, is all. I have an idea, I'm running with it, that's all. I'm sorry it pisses you off I'm not doing what you think I should be doing. I know you dislike rape in all its shapes and forms. But I firmly believe that it fits the story, and accomplishes something. I'm not doing it to be gratuitous, I'm not doing it b/c I think its zomgawesome and a good chance for hurt/comfort. I'm doing it because it fits the story, it fits the Queen. That's all. But I really am sorry I've upset you. There is nothing I hate more, and I'm alway severely fucking depressed when you flat out refuse to read one of my stories, even if I completely understand your reasons.

It's...I dunno, it's not gloom and doom, and once he goes to find Lev thinks get woobie quick. I think I'm making it sound worse than it is, and I wish you would give it a fair chance. Nikery and Sky both say it works, for what it's worth. And, I mean, I do like some darker stuff. It's just that I know you don't like it, and it's like maybe .05% of what I read, so I seldom bother with it.By and large, yeah, I do hate it, but Snow White always struck me as fucking creepy, so I guess I'm just playing on that.
