Otherwise, what was the last one you read? I could post you some of mine (and then get you to post them back when I move to Canada, or something). That is, if you can't find someone who currently lives on your continent.
(The document is also shared with tinx_r but I don't know if she actually has time to take a look at it or anything. Anyway more than one set of eyes is good!)
I read a lot of books. You just seldom hear about them here because very few are worth discussing, or I get tired of people endlessly haranguing me or shoving recs down my throat.
I love it love it. I think I replied to your email a couple of times. The end totally rocked, and the flashes of humor totally were them ^__^ I think the conditioning had to be my favorite, it was so dead on and awesome.
Ah. People harangue you? I can't see that. The recs I can see and I can see how that'd get really annoying, really fast, especially with so many fans. The 'there are only so many hours in a day' feeling, huh? *nod*
I'm opinionated and generally obnoxious in stating my opinions, so yeah, people come back at me - which, I'm sure I deserve, but sometime I just want to blather without getting lecture or harassed.
The recs I do get tired of. There are precious few people in the world whose recs I trust, so I get sick of people recc'ing things that I already full well know I'll hate (anything to do with modern supernatual, esp. fucking vampires, god if one more person recs a vampire book I will scream).
Plus, I write, and people constantly demand more and guilt trip and I'm perpetually behind anyway so yeah, the time when I could read a book a day is long gone.
But that doesn't mean I don't fucking read 'very many books'.
Woah, what? What's with the nastiness? I never said you 'don't fucking read very many books.' I don't even remember dropping the f-bomb. I meant, literally, books, dead-tree and all that. Uh, I definitely know you read, and a lot.
I totally got the vibe you didn't like me before, but you could have told me if that was the case. And I'm not guilt-triping you, either.
I never meant to give a vibe I don't like you - I like you fine. Believe me, you're one of those I considered part of my inner circle, if I actually have one. I didn't say you were guilt tripping or anything, it just seemed a criticism or condescending or something to say I don't read a lot of books, just because I was stupidly upset to have run out of my latest obsession.
Oh, iz all good. I know how people are. (They suck. Ass.) I'm too curious for my own good. Really. I'm sure you've noticed that whenever I do drop a line, I tend to ask at least one question. Heh.

And nah, it'll be fun to torture myself until I can by them. I rarely have books to look forward to, beyond the interwebs.

Date: 2009-04-19 01:05 am (UTC)It's fine. I shouldn't have snapped. Hearing comments that *are* meant that way has obviously made me too touchy. I am sorry.
