Am the only one who thinks it's abjectly stupid to wear headphones while driving? We saw two friggin' people doing it when we were out. What the hell?

Not only is it a bad idea, it's pretty much illegal in....every state, I believe.

No, it's stupid. That's what radios are for. And on top of that, you get entirely into your own head while wearing headphones. When it's in a car speaker, you are more likely to notice what's happening around you. not what's in your ear.

I thought that was highly illegal.

Sorry. It's illegal where I live. Very illegal.

heh, can't say that I haven't done it on those long drives to places where the radio doesn't work (my car's antenna is, how shall i say this, not there >.<). But that's only on highways when there's very little traffic.

In cities and places where there's more than 1 other person on the road besides you? Yeah, that's pretty stupid, as is talking on the cellphone and trying to make a left turn, or just talking on the cellphone in general while driving, which I see a lot of here *sigh*

I have done it, when the radio does not work and I am super super cranky and the only cure is loud, angry music. ^___^ But that was only in my brother's POS when I had no transmission in my POS.

Never while driving. I will, however, cop to listening to audiobooks while biking, which is possibly more stupid-- only the well-worn audiobook, nothing really engaging, just something to make me laugh while commuting. And low enough to hear yelling or sirens or the like.

Isn't that illegal? People have to be able to hear sirens and horns and stuff, right?

It's even worse when the driver is driving a motorcycle... I have done it once, but I was a passanger on the bike at so that's ok. I never do it when I'm riding.

Also: I can understand one in while driving, but two is pushing it.

Why is it so difficult to make a left turn?

I've driven with one ear-phone in, but only on an extremely familiar open road with no cross-roads and very little traffic. Both ear-phones plus other traffic? That just screams of criminal stupidity.

That's dangerous&dumb. There's enough injured&dead people around no need to add more because of sheer dumbness.

cause most people i see making left turns use two hands to turn, and with a cell phone in one hand, it makes that kinda hard. Though this could just be my observations being wrong. It has happened many many times before ^^;;

On the worse side, I have seen teenage friends taking the bus together and, apparently, talking to each other while wearing their headphones. Each. In both ears.

...Huh, what? FAIL, SRSLY.

Or wait, does turning left mean you turn across the traffic?
