Had an awesome evening with Sarah and JD (her little brother, cutest kid ever) - had dinner at Dewey's and then saw Shrek 2 again - and I got to watch them play DDR (at which I SUCK).

Only to come home to find out that my family's house got struck by lightning. Which means they lost a fuckload of shit, including the computer modem. Aaaan the asshole we rent from has decided to sell our house. And the car barely works. What the fuck did my family do that all we get is grief. JUST ONCE I would like to see my parents happy again, like they were when we were still in the military. I swear they haven't really been happy since the Marines said "oh, sorry. you're good but we're downsizing." I'M JUST FUCKING TIRED OF IT. My parents and siblings deserve better.

Argh. It's the worst feeling in the world to be incredibly happy only to realize your family isn't having so great a time.

*hugs* I'm sorry to hear about it,Derr. I'm trying to think of something positive about the situation, but it's not coming to me. :( Everything will work out, it always does... you never know, this could be the best thing that's happened to your family in a long time, though it may not seem like it right now... things have a funny way of working out. :)
