So events in my life
Jun. 5th, 2004 12:01 pmI can't even remember all the stuff I meant to post about. Let me think.
Have been going to many yummy restaurants with Sarah - the Melting Pot is f'ing expensive but very worth it. Didn't hurt that the waiter was really cute. Had a chocolate martini (your are better gomes) with dinner, very yummy, and an amaretto-laced coffee with dessert.
Already mentioned I liked Day After Tomorrow, so we'll skip that and move on to the previews. Saw the King Arthur preview again, actually looks like it might be worth seeing. The legends of Arthur I've always made a point to stay away from, because I know I could easily get addicted. But it also falls in with vampires and elves in that it's always the Same Thing no matter what version you read. Except unlike the other two I'm not going to try to rewrite things. This movie looks like it may be worth something.
Also saw a preview for Alexander the Great. Can't wait to see that, hot damn.
Speakin of hot and damn, Chronicles of Riddick. Ordinarily I don't go for big guys, but since Pitch Black I have been addicted to Vin Diesel- though really it's Riddick I like. I know it's stereotypical to go for the villians/bad boys but hey - I don't really remember but apparently when I was little Darth Vader was my man. So it's been a thing for me since childhood. I could into theories why, but I think that's future post.
Had Japanese food the other day, got grilled eel which after green tea udon is my fav meal. And green tea ice cream for dessert And! I found one of my fav candies at an asian market - these chewey green tea candies that no one else likes because they're kinda bitter at first (and I have something of a love for green tea, if that wasn't obvious).
Currently struggling with writing - lately I can start stuff but just not finish it. Don't know why - I think anxiety over when/if I'm getting a damn job is dragging me down. But I think I'll manage to get some writing done today, there are two chapters I'm nearly done with and about five short stories that are all about 1/3 - 1/2 done. Though what I really want to do is start work on two more story ideas I've got - both long short stories - one a pretty simple bounty hunters thing, the other a retelling of one of my favorite Russian fairytales. So far there are two Russian fairytales on my list of "Fairytales to Slash"
Which reminds me suddenly that I need to work on my webpage. I wish I could get it more attention, though I think half the problem is that I tend to forget about it and get lazy about updating it. However FQ has given me so much fanart it's an injustice not to put all of it up.
Enough pointless rambling out of me. I think we're going to see Prisoner of Azkaban today. Oh! My parents sent my Lond on stuff to me. I soooo want to go right now but unless someone can tell me how to get at least $30,000 plus a laptop before September 20th, it looks like I'm going to have to put it off 'til next year. Ah well, price I pay for being a slacker - and really I don't want to leave Cincinnati so soon. I'm just very much of a "do it RIGHT NOW" mentality, though I'm sure no one has ever noticed.
Okay, really stopping this time.
