Have managed to write roughly 3000 words of my contest story. Want to reach a certain point today, then will either switch back to H&G for Sky or succumb to temptation and watch ep four of Kyou Kara Maou, which is vastly amusing if not the anime of century.

Need a good russian name for a horse. My family is officially moving out of the old house today so I can't reach my sister. Hmm...

And the men are just about finished installing the screen door in Sarah's room so soo we will have fresh air! in the basement. w00t!

3000? Damn woman! Do I get approval rights? ;)

hurray for screen door! this pleases me.

*gives you the puppy eyes*

If I tell you I've had a very long day and I've unpacked 5 big boxes and am very very tired and ask oh so very nicely can I persuade you to toss 2 cups of rice and 2 3/4 water in the rice maker and hit cook? Prettttty please???

Dude, it's only eight pages so far. I'm not even close to half done. No approving yet.

dude, you just have to ask. I'll put in about a quarter 'til?

I read Goofy's reply & for some reason, "Bukkake" popped into my head...

What goes on in your head is a mystery to all of us.

You seem amused by anything that involves Sarah and men.

What kind of name are we looking for? Have a specific word or name or whatever in mind? Doesn't that list of Russian words I sent to you a while back have anything useful?

From: [identity profile] maderr.livejournal.com

dude, I'm not naming the poor horse "orange," "blue" or "umbrella." I might in other circumstances but not here. C'mon, your a noble tsarewhatits tracking a gold & silver bird with a penchant for stealing apples. What would you name your horse?

Date: 2004-06-08 03:46 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rykaine.livejournal.com
Sorry, I couldn't remember what words I'd given you. YOu're right; none of those will work.

And it's a noble Tsarevich. Ok, let me think. I don't have my dictionary with me, so this'll take a while...

Any idea what you want? hmm... ...

Tsarevich, right. Prince, right? I am Ivan Son of Tsar.

Not really, anything works. Maybe I should just call it Misha, like that poor rat on that submarine movie that was really cool. And b/c, you know, I can't write anything involving Russian folklore without calling someone Misha.

Remind me what the dim for Boris is?

Boris = Borya

umm...? Rasvet'? (=dawn/sunrise)

Mom says name it Romanov (for humors sake, I hope you get that).

Veter? [Vey teyr] (=wind)

Loshat' (=horse)

Mika [mee kah] (=a/n)

Dude, I don't really know? It doesn't help I'm drawing a complete blank on my hard(ly)-(l)earned vocabulary... Sorry.

Do you need it like soon?

Date: 2004-06-08 03:58 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] maderr.livejournal.com

ahahahaha - "Romanov, have a carrot boy. That's my good romanov" aahahahahahahaha. I am way too easily amused by my own head.

Veter is actually perfect. Thank you. And now that I think about it, this story has two horses. I'll use Mika for the other one.

Excellent, you've been most helpful. I think I'll send you what I have so far, once I add some names (I didn't think the brothers had names, but they give them names right at the end of the story so I figured I'd better toss them in).

Dude, the version I have gives them names right from the start. Like Dmitri and I forget who the other was, but meh... whatever you want is fine. I could never look at Dmitri as being bad--not with Grave dancing around my head. haha

From: [identity profile] maderr.livejournal.com

is that a print or online version? If it's online, hook me up - I don't think mine is the best around but I'm too lazy to find another one (I'm also totally rewriting it anyway so it doesn't really matter).

I have them as Dmitri and Vasili (my vers has "y" at the end of each name, but I don't like them so they're just "i" now).

My version a print version. I intend to send you the book it's in, and the book with the other firebird story. BJ gave me permission to send both to you.

I scour the net, and see if I can't find a better verion, but really, in the end they're all the same--yours should be fine.

And 'i' is a more phonetically proper ending for Vasilli. The why is just so it looks 'phonetically accurate' to the English mind. And note: sometimes it's spelled with 2 'l's, sometimes 1. It's your call. My preference is the 2--like the final 'i', I just think it looks better. (Just FYI).

From: [identity profile] maderr.livejournal.com

yeah, don't bother looking. not worth the time

Hmm...I like your two l spelling better. I shall go witht that.

Should I be worried when you offer to take women "under you wing?"

By the way, if you hit play on your answering machine you risk playing the words of an ancient Sumerian text which will awaken the Deadites. Don't say I didn't warn you.
