Writing and Fishing

maderrWriting is not going well. All last week I kicked ass, this week I seem to have been abandoned by the muses. It is most vexing. Hopefully tomorrow will prove to be a better day, b/c if I miss the contest deadline I will hate myself for all time. That leads me to a question (I've already pesterd my sister with this): The rules say original works, no using other's chars or worlds. Does that include fairytales? I mean I'm guessing it does but still...
Fishing! Was lots of fun! Sarah beat me in the end by hauling in a striped bass, but I caught six little blue gills and a catfish! That rocked! It was only a little one, about two pounds, but for a rookie I'd say it was a pretty good night. Loved it loved it! And the fireflies! Sooo pretty - there were enough of them they put a christmas light display to deep shame.
Of course now I reek of fish and chicken livers but once S is out of the shower, it's my turn. Then I'm either going to fall asleep or talk to my sister some more. After I have a bowl of cereal, I am most hungry.
The first is my very first catch, a tiny little blue gill! The second is much later that night, when I caught my catfish!

Oh my gosh, I think blue gills are so fun. They’re such small fish, but man do they put up a fight. I’ll have to find some photos of my catch from when I last went fishing so we can swap tales and talk about the ones that got away. =D

Date: 2004-06-25 10:08 am (UTC)the blue gills were fun! I did't know how to grab them at first, so one of them got me rather good with their spines. They've got a lot of energy for such small fish, it was definitely a fun way to begin the night.

Date: 2004-06-30 05:49 pm (UTC)I used to love fishing at Lake Pemaquid in Maine. Looks like soon I may be doing some open water, Ocean fishing soon. Bringing down a Salmon would be so cool... You can't even keep those if they're under 24 inches.....
