original writing

Maybe it's just b/c I have no life otherwise (though I doubt it), but lately I've been taking my writing more and more seriously. Of course, it helps immensely that more people are commenting on my work. It always help to know that what you write is being read. skylark97 especially has motivated me a great deal.

But original works are amazingly hard to get people to notice. I'm on three or four original works ml's and the like, but I seldom get any feed back. And it's not like I don't comment in my turn - I firmly believe that you can't expect feedback if you don't give it.

Anyway, the whole point of this is that I'd like to eventually make a website/whatnot to host and advertise for various original writers. It's just that I don't really know where to start...maybe with finishing my own stories, lol.

You could try posting them at Fictionpress. It's an offshoot of FFN, but it's still a way to get a piece out there in a place where it's more likely to get read a lot, you know?

Of course, you'll probably get a lot of reviews that look like "K00l fic!!!!!11 writ more! will u read mine fic?" anyway, but there are probably a couple of fairly intelligent people there too.

I have put them up there, and they're basically just like you say. What makes me feel bad is that when I do go to read the work of those that leaves commments, it's either bad poetry or mary sue's.
