So I was reading the paper today

The article was about crooked cops, basically.

And it made me think.

"Partners who fall in love" is a tried and true...genre? of slashdom (of anythingdom, really) but the cops are ALWAYS homicide. At least, offhand I can't think of any time they haven't been homicide.

I think it'd be interesting if the cops were internal affairs. Wouldn't that be cool? Do those guys work in partners? I assume so, but we all know what happens when you do that. But I think it'd be neat if cops A and B worked for IA, and they were investigating Cop X, whom cops A had a thing for - or develops a thing for as the story progresses. Yeah, that'd be more interesting. Only, the whole time, B has a thing for A, and doesn't like what he's noticing about A and X. And X the whole time is crooked cop only b/c he has to be - blackmail or some such? Eh, would have to be better than that (and showing yet again my penchant for villians that aren't Completely Evil) And he is developing feelings for Cop A, all the while trying *not* to get found out. And then in the end, it turns out B was the mastermind the whole time and was trying to off X for various and sundry reasons, and only turns nastier when he realizes X is slowly but surely stealing his man.

Actually, now that I think about it this had probably already been made into a movie. Except that one of them was undoubtedly an Obligatory Stupid Chick, thereby ruinig the movie entirely.

This is seriously how my mind works. Now do you see why I get nothing done?

P.S. I'm not writing this. I was just saying it'd be cool.
