(no subject)

Dear Self,

Just because you can't sleep doesn't mean you should stay up 'til nearly five reading. I don't care how good a book it is (though the last couple lines were kinda lame).

Ramblings

American Gods and then last night The DaVinci Code have both succeeded in keeping me hideously distracted from doing anything. It's been a long time since I've read books that damn good. DaVinci was very very good, though I don't know how they're going to make it a movie w/out doing to it what they're doing to His Dark Materials - that is, taking out all referencees or allusions to god that might not agree with the over zealous portions of our society. The problem with both books is that by doing that you essentially take out the entire story, so I guess we'll see. I highly reccommend all the books previously mentioned (His Dark Materials is actually a trilogy - The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass.

In other news, it seems next week I will only be working to six. Another coworker will be working 11-8, and I'll cover his morning duties (yay! I get to be a runner!).

So tired. I'm not sorry I stayed up all night reading the book, but I probably shouldn't resume making it a regular habit.

Provided I get the chance this weekend, you guys should have a decent amount of stuff to read. I'm thisclose to finishing several things, the only reason they're not done is that lately I've had the attention span of a gnat with ADD buzzed on caffeine.

Paid bills, thought I'd have to pay another but it turns out not. So I had a bit more money that I'd planned. Not much more, mind, I'm still poor. But the two major things were paid off and now I have two new pairs of shoes (I really really really needed them. Half my shoes have holes and the other half will shortly.) Got some black mules and a badass pair of brown boots.

Then caved to my Ultimate Weakness and went to the bookstore. Bought Hellsing 4 & 5 and Angels & Demons, the book that precedes The DaVinci Code.

And now I'm going to complete today's sins by having a cup of tea and some cake. ^_^

Working 'til eight tonight, so should be able to get more written if I don't fall asleep.
