First off - am so far sticking to my promise. The next two chapters have been written, I'm merely waiting for word from at least two of my betas before I post them, as I'm having trouble wrapping things up and am more paranoid than usual that my writing has suddenly turned crappy (I have this overwhelming fear of ending things, perhaps b/c so many books I've liked are good right up until the end).

Amusement for the day: S and I went around with our carpet and tile sample to make sure everything matched the furniture we've been eyeballing, etc and the guy helping us could not decide if we were friends or lovers - you could see in his face that he was doing his best to figure it out. He was also a bit frightened by our bright discussion over colors and paint and matching. I believe the comment was something like "Glad I'm a guy. We don't worry about matching the colors." After that he ran away; I guess terrified we might ask him which color he liked best ^_~

We're cruising right along on the house - both bedrooms primed and ready for painting next weekend. So we're keeping our fingers crossed that nothing prevents us!

Want a nap, but alas cannot have one. Must figure out how to end blasted story.

Oh, yeah. Before I forget, is there anything I should change before I ink my picture?

PS- don't be paranoid <.< It will be wonderful no matter what you decide. I'm sure you already know what I want to happen.

Heh. I'll be sure to post pics once it's all done. My room is going to be painted a light blue, something called "sapphireberry" and it's really pretty - not a baby blue or anything like that. S' room is a darkish lavander, and the study & living room are getting "custard cream" which is this spiffy pale yellow that we think'll work better than white (it makes more sense when you see the lay of the house). The couch, love seat and dining room chairs are all dark blue (well, seats of the dr chairs), and all our woods are light-colored. The kitchen floor is a really pretty blue/green pattern. Cool?

Because I've been horrible and haven't been keeping up with your writing, I can't offer any solid advice on the story itself, but I can give some extremely general reccomendations. =)

Know what it is you don't like about those endings. Identify common traits you dislike about them and then you'll know what to avoid. Some examples of endings that I'm not too fond of:

1.) Going a step too far. I like having some things left unsaid and up to my imagination. If everything is spelled out for me all nice and neat, it's not as satisfying.

2.) Coming out of no where. Surprises are nice, feeling like the channel was changed and you're now reading something else entirely isn't. What TV series was it that ended up taking place in some kid's imagination? Interesting, but WTF?

3.) Having the characters be totally OOC since everything is resolved and there is no more conflict. I grow to know the characters as they are during the corse of the story, they should stay that way.

4.) Leaving a very obvious opening for a sequal. Like an antagonist's child swearing revenge against the protagonist in the last ten seconds. When movies do this, I leave the theater screaming.

Like the 2nd X-men movie!!!! Now if there isn't a sequel I think I'll go back to the theater I saw it at last year and demand to have my money back. Yeah, that's what I'll do <.

Fine line b/t 1 & 4, in that I *do* like to leave things hanging, and there is one very big thing left hanging - but I don't plan on doing a single. So hopefully that'll come off the way I want.

I think I'm good everywhere else - the help is HUGELY appreciated. You have no idea.

Almost done!

Aaaan i wouldn't expect you to keep up with my writing - lord knows you've got plenty of stuff on your own plate ^_^ Speaking of which, I hope you are feeling less stressed than you had been. (And on a vaguely related note, printed out your greek picture and am dying to see the story itself)

Yeah, if there's no sequel there's going to be hell to pay.

=) Glad I could be of some help.

I feel bad about not keeping up because I feel like I'm living the double standard that I detest: "Expecting everyone to become totally enthralled in all I do, reading everything, but then me not caring to pay attention to other people's work." People with that attitude generally tick me off and I feel horrid that I'm falling into that category.

The first chapter of Greek-ness has been posted. I want to finish the next ASAP, maybe finish it all before the new year.

I'm thinking about putting the stress on the cutting block and going at it with Ginsu knives, that or drop it from the highest building in Philippi (8 floors, OMG!). Which is a nice way of saying, I'm either cutting down on things or doing away with them all together.
