somebody shoot me, onegai
Sep. 24th, 2003 12:12 amGoddamn, work sucked. The funny thing is, the way it started out you would think the night was going to go smoothly. Yet, ten minutes after we'd been there Becca ('nother manager, and a friend) and I looked at each other and said "it's going to be a looong night." Boy were we right.
You know you've worked too long at a hellish job when you get a feeling about these things. There were bad vibes in the air, and they were laughing at us.
As I was the first one in, I got to be manager (yay verily I say unto the, it sucketh mucheth). Night started slow, we knocked out a fuckload of the annoying shit, cleaning, maintence, etc. But periodically, right in the middle of one activity or another we would get these "bursts" of orders. They weren't even legitimate rushes, too short for that. Just busy enough to really piss me off. It's hard to explain, suffice to say these make the nights long and annoying. On top of that we actually got busy at 8:30-ish. When I have two drivers and one crew because one of my workers skipped out on me. Yeah, he's lucky I couldn't find him, b/c otherwise he'd be in the ovens right now. All three of them.
In addition (don't think I'm done yet) to that, 2 (out of 4) of my drivers sucked. One is a space case, she can't do anything right at all. The head manaager just keeps her I think, because no one else would ever take her. Honestly, we groan in pain when this woman walks in the door (and she's really nice, that's the hard part. she's a great person, bad driver). The other one is going to be in the ovens himself if he ever shows me that much disrespect again. If he thinks I couldn't beat his ass into shape, he's dangerously mistaken. The head manager (hm) is going to hear about that one tomorrow.
Not to mention the hm called me, and she more or less said that I'll probably be called in to help tomorrow morning (day off? what? where?).
I've plenty of other things to stress me out, but I've tortured you guys enough with this rant.
Life sucks.
