Dec. 22nd, 2004 01:56 pmRumors are flying around the office.
Lots of snow. That is fact.
City is closing at four. Courts are closed tomorrow. We might be closing down shortly. All rumor.
Ikon bought us pizza today, from Donatos (my downtown fav).
And jeez, who broke my awake switch. Still so sleepy. I feel like I've been drugged. It's really weird.
Am using the Figaro icon simply b/c I need something pleasant to look upon.

Just for You and Mewbert
Date: 2004-12-22 07:46 pm (UTC)Edgar looked up from the scroll and ledger that were in front of him. "What?"
"I said, it's snowing." Sabin was lounging in the king's room, staring out a window with a surprised look on his face. A mug of his favorite tea was in his hand.
Edgar rolled his eyes. "Get real, Sabin. It doesn't snow in the desert." His eyes went back to his work.
Sabin frowned at his brother. Griping to himself, he stood up and stalked out of the room. Edgar promptly forgot him, getting lost in the numbers and budgets that came with running his kingdom.
He didn't hear Sabin return a half-hour later. He didn't notice anything until gentle fingers lifted his hair from his neck and and a mug filled with icy crystals went sliding down his back.
Papers went flying in a veritable storm as Edgar howled, leaping to his feet. Sabin barely backed up in time to avoid Edgar's chair as it fell backwards with a loud crash. Sabin roared with laughter, watching his brother frantically pull his shirt from his pants, shaking his clothes to get the melting ice out away from his skin and calling him some of the most outrageous names he'd heard in a long time.
"I told you," Sabin finally managed to say between gasps for breath, "I told you. It's snowing."
"It's impossible! We're in the desert. Hundred and twenty degree days, remember?"
Sabin shrugged. "Okay, so that ice came from the kitchen. But it WAS snowing earlier."
"Dammit, that was COLD, Sabin. And now the entire back of my shirt is wet. And now all my work is scattered everywhere." He waved at the papers that were still fluttering to the ground. "It's going to take me an hour to just get everything arranged again."
This was sort of what Sabin had been hoping for. "Well, since it's going to be a while before you get to work again..." he said with a leer.
"Sabin, if you're bored, then you can always go make yourself useful somewhere while I'm working." Edgar's voice was stern, but his eyes showed weakening.
"Aw, c'mon. The documents can wait." Sabin began to unbutton Edgar's garments. "Besides, you gotta get out of those went things. Don't want the king to catch cold after playing with snow."
Edgar sighed.
