The skyline three-way I brought to work for lunch was lacking the #2 ingredient. I'm kinda pissed. Those fuckers aren't cheap, I would have liked if mine came with all I paid for it. Bah.

Signed up for nanowrimo, so that if it turns out I have time, I'm set. If not, oh well. Though ideally, once I finish my current project (which will be by Friday, hopefully, but if not by Monday) I want to crack down on Part I. So I apologize to all if other things fall by the wayside. Though knowing me I'll work on them anyway. Mwahahaha. So mad excited about the story I'm half done with. Want to work on it!

Am also fond of the SMP story I'm working on. It's late, but all my others were on time and my next one will be so I guess I can be forgiven? Need to work on that too (so what am I doig instead? LJ'ing. *shakes head*)

I feel there was something else I wanted to say. Ah, well. Ciao.

"skyline three-way"

I so totally have a dirty mind. So what is this of which you speak?

LMAO. Skyline is a chain that makes cincinnati-style chili. My favorite food in this city. A three way is just chili + spaghetti + lots and lots of shredded cheese. They forgot the spaghetti :(

Okay. And since I know what Texas style chili is in my estimation, what's cincinnati-style?

(I could so go for a vegetarian sandwich I had in new york city... BMT, Basil, Mozzerella and Tomato on wheat afghan-type bread. Num.

As I'm not native, I won't attempt to explain. I'm sure Sarah will gladly usurp my journal to go tour guide on you. But here's this:

*is shaken and scandalized*

One of the main differences from Texas-style chili is the inclusion of sweet spices such as cinnamon and allspice, and even cocoa in the Cincinnati version.

HOW THE HELL CAN YOU DO THAT TO CHILI?!?!?!?!?

*goes to scrub herself clean*

Ick. Evil people putting cinnamon and allspice and ick on meat.

That's why I'm not fond of some Middle Eastern/Indian foods.

To combat your ebilness, I will go home and grill myself a steak. :) With baked potato...

Nope! No Joke!

No, no you did a lovely job. And you didn't even have to use the words "meat slurry"

*snicker* Cincinnati is one of the few places where you can go into a restarant and ask for a three way and not be escorted out XD

I love watching non natives reactions to Cincy style chili. I was behind two guys in Skyline one day and they were *so* confused.

*restrains urge to yick* I'm sorry. I'm a Texan. We like our barbecue how we like it (generally spelled incorrectly, with brisket and sausage as the main staples), our chili as we like it (spicy enough to melt the tar off of asphalt...

We just pretty much are set in our ways, and pansy-ass spices like cinnamon should be in roll, bun, pie or cake form. :) j/k

IF you're talking the frozen kind, they make chili & chili/spagetti versions & there isn't much differance between the packaging except for the text on the box, so is it possible you (or whomever) bought one of the chili verions that doesn't have spagetti in it?

You can make a 3-way spud by putting cincy-style chili & cheese on a baked potato.

The Skline chili is Greek-based (http://www.skylinechili.com/skyline_history.php) & as they say on the website, "Much different than traditional or “Texas-style” chili, our chili’s consistency is more like a topping, which makes it ideal for pouring over coney dogs or onto spaghetti, creating our unique signature dish – the 3-Way." Cincinnati style chili is not something normally eaten just by itself.

Mmmmmm Brisket.

And Skyline is decently spicy, it just has more layers of flavor than other chilies ^^

Oh you are *SO* getting a can as payment for that pansy comment XD

I thought the exact same thing initially. Also chili + spaghetti + cheese sounds gross. Especially sweet chili. But more importantly, how can you do that to spaghetti? *shudders*

This Italian girl does not approve XP

Texas chili is good with cheddar cheese and onions. Fresh white/yellow onions. :)

Like I said... ebil people putting cinnamon on meat. :) I like being a narrow minded Texan when it comes to things like this.. And I only ever eat chili *on* something if it's a Coney dog....

Would that be a can of whoop-ass? ;)

I'm just used to traditional Texas chili, and some of the steak house chili, made with stew beef instead of ground beef. (NO BEANS).

Oh, and corn bread. Though, the last time I ate corn bread, someone died... so that's not so good...

Yeah. Ohio River between them...

Interestingly enough, Cincinnati's major airport (the one I've been through) is actually IN KENTUCKY.

That's it! You are getting a can too.

And it's not *sweet* per say. It's spicy with a nice layer of flavors and one just happens to be sweetish.

The German Girl says you are going to try it frist XD <3
