Ignoring him only encouraged him. Akoni saw it as a personal challenge of some sort. Kai had figured that out inthin days when the pool boy had caught him in the shadow of the clubhouse and stolen a kiss. The trick was to respond politely and pretend you were busy.
Even if you were on break until someone called for a drink.
"Sorry, Akoni. Can't talk. I've got work to do."
"Not from what I hear," Akoni said with a grin. "Ikaia says you're off until some lady wants a little help from a hottie. You have plenty of time to be friendly with me."
Kai made a mental note to kill Ikaia.
See! It wasn't the cabana boy's fault. The evil pool boy made him do it! XD
