CELL by Stephen King

Not as good as his other stuff, but I really liked it. I love surviver stories, at least when done by King.

Not as horrifc as his others, but I'm not exactly chill either.

And, of course, 2/3 through the book I called my mother on my cell to ask if she noticed the Raggedy Man ref. If anyone can tell me who in The Stand called Randall Flagg that, I would be most grateful.

In that, King is, as ever, very cool. His novels all connect in some way, shape or fashion. I love it.

As my parting note, before I go to bed 1.5 hours past my bedtime:

Clay + Tom + Jordan = OT3 and there is no way you can argue that one. Most cannon I've ever seen. Thank you and good night.

Chilly as Hell? Yes I am.

Anyway, *heart* Mr. King can write some damn good fiction, but my heart still lies with Mr. Cormier (may he rest in peace), even if he would be classified as teen-fiction. (Teen fiction, my ass. What kind of teen fiction puts incest, racism, and pedophilia in the same book, and still manages to keep plot, let alone, supernatural plot? Genius, I tell you.)

I'd bitch and moan about the book, but honestly that'd just be a bullshit way to react to it. It was better than a lot of the shit I read, and King does a fucking nice job of pulling his characters through some crazy shit.

I did think the whole reset the human brain, reboot, restart, whatever you want to call it concept behind the phonies was really cool. An awesomely clever way to make things personal in a computer age. And does pose some cool questions for discussion.
