I don't think I'll be getting married either, but then again the first one of us to go was the woman that said she would never succumb to such an "institution" or whatnot.
Tis the age group to watch all of our friends get sucked into the diamond ring abyss;) Don't worry Derr I can't imagine you'll be losing me to that abyss soon
Excellent. But speaking of which, care to place a bet on who in the group bites it next? Al doesn't count, she's been more or less engaged for ages. Hmm...
point. these days I wonder what "sanctity" they think they're preserving anyway. there doesn't seem to be much of that left in marriage these days, but maybe that's just me.
If they want to keep people from being promiscuous, why don't they let them marry? Even the Bible suggests that's what marriage is for (to keep people from being promiscuous). Granted, the Bible also has a thing against homosexuality, which is why it's such a big stir these days with God-fearers in charge. Don't beat me up for this, but I am a very spiritual person, but I can't help my preference. If I could change it, I would, for right now, I am a very lonely person.
Feh. Not likely. Me married isn't even likely, and it would have to be a hell of a prince charming (or whatever) for me to be getting married sometime next year.
You're asking the wrong person. My mother and I get into it all the freakin' time b/c she's against it and I'm for it. Marriage to me was always The way of declaring "this is who I want to spend the rest of my life with, no matter what." It confounds me why only certain people are allowed to do that. Hell, it confounds me why sexual pref is even a determining factor. But I'm neither spiritual (and please don't think I'd beat you up for being so) nor religious, so maybe some of those arguments are simply beyond my comprehension.
