So I've been invited to join the Rhapsody: The Romance Lover's Book Club

I die of giggles. I'm well aware I write the slash equivalent of bodice rippers, but still.

What I really want to do is take some of these and see how to slash them.

Though seriously, all these Anita Blake rip offs X_x Can't people be a bit more creative? I mean seriously.


The ones that really make me want to slash them are the ones with all the Prince of Fire, Prince of Magic, The Leopard Prince, The Raven Prince...etc etc. Don't those sound like they'd be much better of slash? Yes, I thought so.

And the answer is no, so don't even fracking ask the question.

Actually, I read a Bodice Ripper from one of my Mom's stash. And was very disapointed by it.

It was 'The Mermaid prince' Or something around those lines. The girl got him in the end, but I remember thinking.

'Fish lay eggs and spread their sperm on them. How they hell will this girl have babies with him if he's half fish? Better yet, how dose that work out? Is it painful? And the hell do the kids look like?'

I stopped reading my mom's books after that.....

I am reminded of one classic painting I saw involving a hot guy and a mermaid doing inappropriate things in the surf. When I first saw it, all I could think was "Are female mermaids equipped to handle human penises?"
