Twitchy as in embarrassed? Or twitchy as in suspicious? I have a fan who used up three ink cartridges printing out my epic fanfic series - I wasn't quite sure how to feel when she admitted this. I was sort of flattered, sort of embarrassed, sort of shocked (three ink cartridges? how much paper would that take?) and sort of worried by the thought of someone actually having something concrete - my words in her hands rather than just in her head. It still makes me feel a bit odd, but I think I've setttled for flattered!
I think I would have been more than shocked at the knowledge that I wrote something that required three cartridges (and flattered that someone thought my stuff was worth buying three ink cartridges to have in dead tree form).
Well, I'd print them out if I had enough paper, since my eyes kind of hurt after staring at a screen for too long. It's nice to be able to see how much you've read though, and nice to know that the story isn't going to vanish into the depths of cyberspace one day. ^_^
Ah, but we are doing so, you see. I for one do it because I like having a printed copy. E-books and electronic formats are all nice and proper, but nothing compares to holding the actual copy in your hands. So hurry up and publish them. *glomps*
When I had dial up I used to print out or save to disk the fanfics and original stories I found on the internet. Also, I did this when I had internet access only at the schools computer lab in japan. I'd save as much as I could read it at home and then get rid of the files and get new stories.
Please be flattered, I print them out to read when I am the passenger in the car or for reading on the train or for just when I cannot have the PC at home (laughs...there is always someone else wanting to use it and I can't afford another one just yet)
I actually only have internet acess for about an hour each day. I print out a lot of things, just so I can read them at my leisure. I read fast, but not fast enough to read everything I want in an hour.
