Nanowrimo

It would be hard to do this year, since I'll be going home for an entire week, but I think my family would forgive me a bit of downtime to write.

I realize that nanowrimo is too easy for me by this point, and I hate appearing like I'm showing off. That's not what I intend at all - I just like setting my own goofy goals and attempting to reach them. For me, the challenge is fun, and by the end of it I have increased my own general skillz.

So really the only question now is what to write. There are a handful of options, and I cannot really decide between them.

You peeps better not get overenthusiastic with the ticky ticky. Those are not there so you can catch click them all.

[Poll #1069350]

*NAAW - this story is going to be epic. Part of the reason I stalled on it was the realization of just how fucking huge it's going to have to be. I suck at sci-fi, and this cracked out story should make that clear if Kidnapped hasn't already. So if I did it for Nano, peeps would be lucky if I simply managed to finish the first chunk of the bastard. I would say it's going to be 2-3 books total.

**Embrace -- likely I would start this over, for better to do what I intended, and then resume where I left off and finally put an end to this story. I waver most heavily between this and Butterfly.

***The Weathermage - this is the story I've been struggling to avoid for days and days. If anyone is interested, I might could be persuaded to type up at least the prologue, for to let everyone get an inkling of it.

EDIT. Uh. I'm sort of charmed and amused people are saying Main Gauche for other - it's already done, and only a short story at that, and I promise I will work harder at getting the one fairytale book together so I can put it up.

I remember 'Never Afraid Are We' fondly and it'd be good to see it again. On the other hand, anything you write will be <333 by me.

God, I love NaNo.

I picked my top three. ^___^ But if it came down to one, I'd have to say Sugar and Spice. And then Treasure. And last Kidnapped. ::grin:: The rest didn't get voted for only because I haven't gotten the chance to read them. ^___^

Also, I may think you're absolutely insane and must like, speed-write but I don't ever think you're showing off. ^___^

Embrace? In one month? *swoons* And here I thought I would never see more of it until the year 2000 and teenth something!

But I'm sure whatever you decide to work on will be wonderful to read.

I really liked Never Afraid are We. It was a very good start. I am horrid at sci-fi, but its still one of my favorite genres. ^^ What ever you choose will be good.

I think it's rather sad that at odd times of the day/week I think about Main Gauche and the possibilities of the rewrite *__* Would def be interested in reading the prologue to The Weathermage...

Oh and I must ask, have you read the manga Shin Angyo Onshi? Cause it takes the fairytales and typical cliches you'd find and turns them on their head - it's kinda scary and mezmerizing at the same time - not to mention, lovely art.

Weathermage? Sounds interesting... *looks for bribes*

I have to choose? Seriously? I love NAAW. Love. So that was where I hovered first. Then I was like, ooh, S&S and TBatB pretties!!! Would be fun to get them! I think Embrace will get plenty of votes so I skipped on down and O_o Weathermage!! I don't even know what it is, but it sounds zomgyummy! already. Especially since it has been gnawing at you. *grins*

And the rewrites would bring them closer to my grabby hands...

Argh! Choices!! *beams*

The title always makes me go, Naaaaaw! Or something equally stupid.

I'd kill for this. (<- Not really...)

If I could, I'd make clones of myself and make a NAAW army and then vote 500x over for NAAW.

My dog is staring at me. I think he's about to claim my lap... Yep. He's now comfortable seated. (Bastard!)

Anyway, NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW.

... Oh wait. Crap. I could've put Meant to Be. I want that more.

Well, if you don't feel like NAWW, or Embrace for that matter, MEANT TO BE.

As die-hard Pyotr and J A D E ! ! ! fan... Well, you know. I'm sure all the MtBe peeps agree too.

I had no idea that was going to be E P I C. That's a very shiny thing to say indeed.

(Meant to Be is still my ultimate favorite. Petya! <- I love his nickname)

Ohhh I completly missed Meant to Be! But I would really like to see the end of Midsummer...but I realize plot bunnies have to coperate! I keep meaning to tell you how awesome Main Guiche is! In my sword fighting group, there are some cool fights with them and all I can think is about your story. Plus the more I learn about the rest of sword fighting (the talking, the procedure of dueling, etc.) I realize how awesome and spot on it was!!
And as crazy as the wheather in Cincy is, Michigan is doing the same. Plus I'm going to be home for Sunday, so of course the weather has to act up!

NAAW! It may surprise you, but I'm adding my vote to the numbers. I love sci-fi, and I like what you do with it. And the whole concept of a triune soldier where they end up developing a mental link is fascinating. I want to find out what happens to the main three people, plus the narrator from the beginning, because he's still a mystery! (Though perhaps that's not the first part of the epic. But hey, the bets way to get through a huge project is to break it into pieces.)

Whatever you pick, I know we'll be happy reading it.

Megan, I thought I should explain my 'other' response about co-writing a bit since it probably seemed very random, lol. I was mostly joking because you're out of my class in that I can't write anywhere near as fast as you (failed the last 2 nanos, mostly due to being lousy at plotting). ^_~ But I am looking for a partner to rp an m/m romance (probably mpreg) with me for this year's nano. If anyone's interested check out the nano forums' new roleplay forum, co-writer matchmaking thread:

I'm also at a tie between Butterfly and Embrace. I'll say Embrace because I've known the characters and plot longer. Also you've improved a lot in your plot weaving and story telling- Embrace seems average in comparison to your newer stuff so it'll do it good to be rewritten.. pretty please!!

I ADORE Never Afraid Are We—that was one of the stories that convinced me to journey from your fp.com site to your LJ and start lurking. So I would be very excited to see more of it, but anything else would be great, too. I'm always happy to read whatever you write.
