Generally the sci-fi channel and I just do not get along. All I see are stupid aliens and crap. Snooze city for me, though I know plenty of people that go starry eyes for it.

This, however, looks kinda cool. Reminds of Tenth Kingdom, except OZ instead of fairytales:

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.

I saw ads for that when I was at my mom's and thought it looked interesting as well. However, it's done by the Sci-Fi channel. The only analogy I can think of that accurately describes what they do with good ideas is "burning cereal."

It says something about my taste in shows that when I have a chance, I'll still watch some of the stuff that they put on. While laughing.

Well, yes. I intend to watch fully expecting cheap amusement, but still. More often than not I watch shows solely for their potential, not for their actuality. My best stories come from doing what I feel other people should have done in the first place. Though I have no desire to touch Oz, and I'd probably get lynched for finding a way to slash it anyway.

*nods* I can see that. I get motivated from authors that have a great ideas and totally screw them up. I want to fix them. My only problem is that by the time I change the story enough so nobody can realize that I am ripping off another author to fix what they broke, it totally doesn't come close enough to the original story to allow me to fix it. Sigh.

Cowardly lion/Scarecrow OTP. XD

That's Tin Man, yeah? Yahoo said it is to be watched. I don't have cable, so it won't happen soon for me. If you watch, please let me know what you think. 3 parts, I think, btw.

It is interesting that you aren't able to bring aliens 'and crap' into your suspension of disbelief circle. I wonder where that stems from?

Cowardly lion/Scarecrow/Tin Man OT3? ^_^

It's not really suspension of disbelief. I dunno, sci-fi never interested me much. I know it falls under fantasy, but I honestly never cared for spaceships and aliens and the like. I keep trying, and certainly I write enough of it towards the goal of learning to like it, but it'll never be a favorite.

w00t! Totally. Dorothy can have the wizard, who turns out to be a geeky but cute hackz0r bishie.

See now, I'll have to come visit again and bring all the best movies and such and have a marathon with good foods until we find your sci-fi love. It is in there, if we just dig a little... Or you could come here!^^

Excellent!

Is Dorothy still a girl (which would be fine, I trust you to write awesome women), or is that one of your boys with girls' names?

I'd keep Dorothy a chick. Seems too much like an easy out to change the gender of the MC. The challenge is in not doing that. Dorothy as some cyberpunk-ish thing would be cool. Everyone does it as fantasy, but as much as I'm typically not for sci-fi, it would do well for itself in a hackz0r type setting. FF VII or Matrix like.

Oooh, Matrix like! That would rock. I dunno much about FF - *hangs head* - but that sounds like an awesome set up! ...er, that you will, of course, not be writing. Or something like that... *grins*

Cyberpunk-ish! For some reason I see some girl with her hair dyed in blue gingham, yelling at Auntie Em: 'how many times do I have to tell you, my name is Roth! Stop calling me that 'D' word!' Hee! Or not. ^_^

Dude, that's awesome! Punk!Dorothy, that'd be bomb ^__^ I wonder how I'd change her companions, and compensate for the heart, brain, and courage. I think brain would have to be a computer, or something like that, which would make Scarecrow a 1337 hacker or something along those lines. Tin Man could be...an android? Perhaps a 'heart' is slang for citizenship or something, meaning he wants to be 'real' after a fashion. Lion stumps me for the moment.

Lion=luddite? Not sure how that would work... That would be so cute if a luddite fell in love with an android and a computer geek, or something, though. Aww!!

Edit: And they wouldn't need the Wiz to give them what they search for, they find that together they had all the need, all along! Ah, sweet, fluffy cheeze.

That looks pretty cool! Makes me want to watch it, too.

I wonder why the Tin Man is the title character, though...

I was wondering that myself, esp. since it's already obvious that Dorothy is originally from that world and everything. Maybe she's his long lost daughter, ahahaha.

Shiny!!

The O.Z. *snickers* Must go watch this, though. It's bound to be better than the Muppets version >.>

Ah, Tenth Kingdom. I never got to finish it because I had borrowed it from a friend.

Usually I'm not a big fan of sci-fi channel simply because half of their stuff if so... boring... I have only show that I like on that channel and it only plays during the summer. But when I saw this the other day I was all over it. Unfortunately the commercial was only two seconds long before it went to another alien thing.

Finally I get to see a full-length view!

YOU. ARE. BRILLIANT.

This idea is so cool, I'm reduced to expressing my glee with caps lock. I want to see this.

This looks interesting. I'm gonna have to try and watch it. I really hope it actually turns out pretty well.

Also, is it just me, or does the Tin Man seem a bit cowboyish?
