I might have figured out the story for Brice and Kodey. The problem now becomes research. I do not write the most accurate stories, detail/history wise, I know, but for some reason with my knights I like to try. I worked really fracking hard to get shit correct with Always There. For some reason it just irks me to get it totally wrong, despite the fact Kitty informed me no one would notice or care - it matters to me.

Sooo now that I have the premise, I musts research.

Fucking bloody hell tournaments and jousting are already giving me a headache x.x

Still - knights ^___^ This shit is really cool, I hope I can actually do something with it. Time will tell.

A Knight's Tale!

... is not historically accurate, but I still like Chaucer's character.

I love JOUSTING! I went to Renn faire and watched it. Huzzah!

Dude, this sounds like a genius idea, Maderr. Go for it!

Mmm... I love stories that are convincing enough to believe, research or no, but actual research - makes my toes curl.

Research:
Excuse to go to ren fair with Sarah...oh right TOO cold to go to ren fair. *mumbles* I knew that. *ends mumbles*
I think you could pump Sarah for information and list her as a primary source in the bibliography. You might could take tax deduction for moneys spent on such research, ie. Alcohol to release her inhabitions about talking on topic of knights and jousting and such. You need to set an example, so drink with her.

Read Terry Deary's Horrible Histories Dark Knights and Dingy Castles and/or Horrible Histories Handbook Knights. You can do research and be amused at the same time.

Happy hunting with the research!

What do you need to know? The study of historical cultures is one of my Things, and if I don't know it I will go find it for you.

Also: jousting. With lances. Sneeeeeeeerk.

Mmm, for now I'm just after general knowledge of how it would have gone down, what would have also been going on, who was permitted to do what, all the little normal stuff (cause I'm so not using A Knight's Tale as a reference).

Heh.

I'm terribly fond of using wikipedia for reference, but the story from the Chronicles of Froissart (about halfway down the page) is rather interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jousting

Yeah, I was reading that yesterday. The problem with research is that it's so shiney I get distracted by it and forget to take notes ^^;
