Okay, I just delved into your journal, 'cause I remembered lots of comments about the cover and thought maybe someone had mused on other ideas. Alas, no, just accolades for that cover.
Hm, maybe someone artistic could draw a picture of an arcen field on the bottom, and an icy field on the top, with a sword dividing them on the diagonal?
It's my first present to you, in the hopes that I get some Dixie and Kitty loving.
If you cant work it out, it's Dixie, drawing isn't my talent I'm afraid, but I like to have a go. Bad drawing just for you because you are love! It's a picture of a picture since I dont have a scanner... which is why some of it's missing.
Interesting, I get paid tomorrow and shall be buying Prisoner in print form from Lulu, I've been planning to for awhile but couldn't decide between Prisoner or FS02. But I think I can wait til next month for FS02. What did you have in mind for Prisoner?
Hope work isn't too bad. It hasn't been great for me lately either.
I don't have the money to pay someone to do something like that, and given the circumstances it wouldn't be right not to pay. I've had a couple off suggestions to put Dieter's sword up there. I don't know. I hate busy covers, but everyone seems to like those, a plain cover isn't quite right but I can't do anything artistic to save my life. I guess, atm, my plans are shelved indefinitely.
I have a friend who needs more publicity since she is trying to start her own art commission business. So, she would probably be willing to do it for free, and if not she owes me a favor due to me being the Grooms-woman for her upcoming wedding.
Here are some samples. Sample one is simple sketch. Sample 2 is colored in colored pencil. She also works digital, but i will have to give you her online portfolio link because i dont have any of her digital saved... Most of her pics i have are hard copy because they were presents...
I don't know that you need a busy cover . . . so much as just a very clever one. I think the key is to be eye-catching . . . despite the phrase 'don't judge a book by its cover' . . . .
Did you actually have any ideas at all for what type of things you'd want on the cover?
