I am halfway through my book, and it's the point where you know everything is really really going to start getting BAD.

I'm not sure what the author intends to convey, but I think the demon that is Kvothe's student/friend is in love with him. It's not just my slashy instincts going ohpretty! In fact it kinda breaks my heart. Maybe it's just friendship, but I dunno man. I really wish I could say this book had an HEA, but I strongly suspect it does not.

I think I need to go read something happy for the rest of the night.

I'd watch KKM, but honestly the series is wearing thin and I hadn't realized it doesn't fucking end >_o

i've only gotten to the part where he walks off the tower -_-;; real gutsy there. course i have to agree on the whole slash feel between Kvothe and his fae friend/student ....... may be my overactive imagination and tendency to slash books/shows etc

my bet is three books cause the title is "The name of the wind: the kingkiller chronicle: day one" and kvothe said it would take three days to tell his tale...course i could be wrong

Argh. My bloody copy doesn't say day one. Damn it! I bought this book b/c it was shiney AND NOT A BLOODY SERIES.

I think I was just pwned -__- Pwned like a bitch.

i don't think its on the cover of any of the copies. the worst part is that the hardcover came out in 2007, the paperback in 2008 and the hardcover for the next book is slated for April 7, 2009 or so says amazon so the paperbooks won't be ut til 2010 ... waiting two years for the next installment has never been my cup of tea ;__;

This is why I rarely read fantasy anymore. No one can write a goddamn oneshot. I get so bloody fucking sick of spending goddamn years and years on one series. Feh. It's really fucking shitty not to make it clear that it's a series -__- God that just pisses me off.

I think i have a book recommendation for you, if you dont mind. Its a three in one volume, so its...kinda...like one book right? Wraeththu by Storm Constantine. (yes it has a sequel series...but..you dont *have* to read that) I was just re-reading it again and forgot how much I loved it. And the waiting for books is evil. Much evil. I'm still waiting for the fourth Nightrunner Book, Shadow's Return, by Llynn Flewelling...Slashy fantasy..good.

yup, afraid so, at least my hardback says day one one it. I didn't realize it at first either, I only noticed after I bought the thing!

Eh. I look at Wraethu sometimes, but it never struck my fancy. I've been informed more than once it's required to build my slash cred, but meh. I do have the fourth nightrunner on preorder, gods I can't wait for that book *.*

The bloody paperback doesn't say anything about that. Argh!

the time is migraine inducing annoying and my wallet can't take it either... i hope at the least this will end in teh appropriate amount of books if only because i remember a friend ranting at me because a series she was following was suppossed to end and then the arthor decided to extend it more cause he was making a substantial amount of money off the series

Wraeththu isnt needed to build 'slash' cred, i dont see where anyone should have told you that. Technically its about a hermaphrodite race created from a single mutant, that collapse all modern society and rebuild it anew. *shrugs* i dodged it repeatedly until i finally bought it off ebay for 5 bucks and gave it a chance.

Its a tie between which books i am having the most difficulty waiting for...Twisted Citadel (sara douglass) or Shadow's return.

D: CURSE YOU STEALTH SERIES. WHY COULDN'T YOU COME OUT OF THE CLOSET AND JUST SAY IT?

"Hi, my title is Name of The Wind, and I am a series. Please don't judge me by my cover."

IT'S NOT SO HARD. SOME PEOPLE WOULD STILL ACCEPT YOU.

Incidentally, KKM ends at about episode a KABAGILLION.

I don't like reading stories that don't have HEAs. Life is depressing enough already.

What I really hate is when you expect a happy ending but... you know.
