It's rare I have a true dilemma of POV. My stories tend to make clear who says what, who gets no screen time. But, at this point, it's pretty obvious new fairytale will require two parts - final titles being Wolf Given and The Seventh Son - but I'm torn on the second story. There's a great deal I see from both POVs. Either would work, and I guess I could do both. But there's no good reason, and it risks dragging the story out, and it wouldn't mesh in the end. The first story only has one POV. It would look strange if the second story had two. So I guess at this point I have to decide which one to use, and say goodby to the extraneous scenes of the unused char. So who to use for story 2? Continue with Ulrich, or switch to Grosvenor. Choices, choies.

Of course, the point is moot atm. I still have to finish the first story.

Still, you can see how thrilling my days are, when that's what I choose to think about for most of it. Heh.

that's a good idea. You are, as ever, wise. Clearly you'll be the brains behind the operation ^__^

If I had the time and energy, I'd just write both versions in full and make everyone pick which one to read. Ahaahahah. that would be awesome.

Hmm. It's definitely two stories, wouldn't be stronger if you cut it together as one larger story with both perspectives? I personally love romance novels which alternate between the two characters' points of view. But, maybe it will make more sense structurally as two stories.

Personally, I'd like to see things from Grosvenor's POV, to get more insight into what makes him tic. But whatever you decide, we'll still read it. :)

If I thought they'd work better as one large story,that's what I'd do. But there's a serious gap b/t them, and they're not strong enough stories to turn into a novella. Better as just two short stories.

Ok, you could try this, but it means LOTS of extra writing on your part which would probably suck. But, you could write the story from one pov, then the other pov, and finally, write it with both pov meshed together. See how each one turns out. You never know. But, like I said, it means tons of extra work on you, which if you were me, would srsly stress me out.

Oh, I love POV experiments. Writing one story from two povs is something I've always wanted to do - but i would't mesh them. In this case, it would make the story unnecessarily long. There's no good reason to do that, other than to stroke my own ego by going 'look what I did'. I don't believe in torturing my readers. If I did that at all, which sadly I do not think I have time for, I'd keep the two versions separate and then torture people by forcing them to pick one or the other, and putting the versions on different filters. I don't think this story is suited to that particular bit of evil.
