Bullets (negative):

  • I'm effing sick of the politics. It's no fun when half your flist is calling you a fucking idiot, and the other half is calling your other friends a fucking idiot. Here's a shocking tidbit: I'm Conservative. I'm not even remotely fucking close to being the goddamn moron or closed minded bigot everyone has been claiming. I have my issues with the liberal side, but I don't go around saying all liberals are fuckwits. I'm so fucking sick of this race already, and it's barely even really begun.

  • I'm sick of work. Tomorrow is going to suck. We push on.

  • I'm almost 27 and I don't have a license. I know this makes me a loser in the eyes of the society. Please to be not lecturing me on top of every fucking thing else I'm dealing with.

  • Dear money problems, go the hell away

Bullets(positive):

  • I have a new computer, and it's shiney. I've never had a comp that came with so many bells and whistles. I'd feel horribly guilty for owning it, but I think I've earned it, and I'll need it for the shit I'm planning.

  • I have lots and lots of Corona in my fridge <3

  • It's almost the weekend.

  • My family rocks hardcore.

  • My friends do too.

  • So do my readers.

  • Dude, I love this fucking song. I've listened to like a million times. Don't know why, but it makes me happy. It's also, for whatever reason, my musesong for Taste of Magic.

I also got Sword in the Stone and Little Mermaid from Netflix. Yay nostalgic Disney \o/

I'm turning 19 in November, last year I was a Freshman in college, and the only reason why I have a permit is because we had a mandatory Driver's Ed class (that I took in 11th or 12th grade-can't remember) and permits were required.

At first I wasn't fond of Rihanna, but her music has changed a lot since the beginning. She's grown on me. Umbrella is good song too. Disturbia is amazing - so is the video. Everything from the clothes and fashion and the images is perfect.

(Squash anyone who pokes at you for being Conservative - obviously it's just who you are, not what group you happen to fall into)

Oh, I'll manage. I haven't backed down from my heathen politics yet, name calling won't change that.

I have a feeling to get in the music biz she conformed, but as soon as she could, she let loose. Hence the name of her album. Her new look and sound suits her more, I think. Certainly she looks like she was meant for it.

politics are always a sticky subject (along with religion, ethnicity and yeah the list goes on -_-;;) i'm independant and somewhere between conservative and liberal....i wonder if anyone knows that both major political parties have liberal and conservative members hmmm and did you know at the democrats from around the civil war era (about there i think) evolved into the modern day republican party? the words stay the same, but the meaning behinds it tends to change with time :) and there is my pointless history lesson for the day ^__^

*__* shiny new comp is soo much fun. exploring all the perks and the speed of the computer before it ages is just WOW :)

I'm avoiding getting my license and permit so you're not alone >__

I decided to take a big step back from the political talk on my friends journals because I honestly couldn't see how I could say anything without it being insulting to someone. Also? New Zealand political climate is so different. The fact I'm pro-life, for instance, isn't seen as conservative/having a particular political leaning at all, just as having an opinion. Both the main parties are central left/right, and so you don't get party divide on most social issues, just individual differences.

I am 27 and I only have my learner's license, which means I can't drive on my own. I haven't driven in years, and even then that was only a couple of lessons ...

Ugh, the thing people tend to forget about freedom of speech is that it allows people to disagree with them. And calling other people names? Just makes you look immature. I may disagree with (non-specific) you, but I totally lose any credibility if I resort to playground tactics.

If it makes you feel any better, my sister will be 27 this... wait, no, 26 this fall. She doesn't have her license either? Hum, hum, just think of it this way -- you're doing your part to help the environment by using public transit to get places instead of being selfish and using your (nonexistent) car to transport just yourself.

Weeeekend.... ::makes grabby hands::

Yay for all things in moderation? Seriously, I agree with melayneseahawk here. Give people freedom and they proceed to complain and bitch about other people like hens. Bleh. Beat them over the head with sticks. Or ax-kick 'em. That's my solution for everything. Got a problem? Ax-kick it. *nods* Works on freshmen and sophmores, should work on everything else, right?

YAY WEEKEND!! *hearts it* As I have now returned to school, the weekend is much more appealing than it used to be.

And I have computer-envy. My dad just switched my system from Windows to Ubuntu, and now I have to re-install all the plug-ins and re-learn how everything works. Bleh.

1) It sucks that your flist are all screaming at each other, but it *is* cool that you have friends with different points of view. I'm really liberal, all my colleagues are really liberal, -- we can all preach to the choir and extol Obama and, seriously, it's kind of dull. I *like* having friends with other points of view (when everybody can have civil discussion that is), in fact it's dangerous not to have dissent.

2) I learned to drive at 27 (partly just to shut people up about it). After I got my license, I didn't drive again until I was 31, and only then because I moved to a horrible dangerous little town with no public transport (I only lived there a year :) ). So I'm very pro-no car -- if you can get by without one it is the environmentally sensitive and economically sensible thing to do.

I have my license, but I fully intend to not use it for the next four years (college) and hopefully not for a while after that either. I much prefer using public transportation or walking to driving, and considering it's better for the environment to not have everyone driving their own car, I think it's perfectly fine to not have a license.

Politics! I find them very interesting, but I tend to avoid discussing them because I'm not interested in the arguments or extreme insults to either side that come along.

Computers are very shiny! One of the best things about going to a tech school is the shiny, shiny things. Also the fact that everyone is addicted to shiny (be it tech or, you know, things like shiny quarters).

Well, I'm 23, and I don't drive. I have another friend who is also 23, and she doesn't drive. An upside on not driving is that we save a lot of money. Bus/subway/taxi fare is cheaper then the cost of a car, insurance, gas, parking fees and maintenance.

This whole two-party system is a crock: in a country of 300+ million people, we get to choose between two guys? From where I'm sitting, our way doesn't look like much of a choice. It's just one step to the left of Syria, where they only get to choose one guy.

According to voter registration statistics, more and more voters are registering or switching to the Independent party. It's a bit difficult in places like Florida, which are fucking closed primary states. But independents tend to be fiscally conservative and socially liberal. That's more my style.

Rihanna has gone poppy in a smooth good way, and thank heavens, cause that Caribbean styling, too close to dancehall first bit was boring me dead. Love the crafted image as well, she looks sleek and sophisticated.
Politics, well. Not going there here. I have a license, but I still don't drive too well. I would honestly prefer good public transport, say trains and quick buses, to driving. *envies you computer* Am currently stuck in the morass of wondering WTF I want to do with my life.

Thank the God above that it's Friday, though I have to sleep yet.
Politics are depressing. At this point I'm looking at the VP possibles and going 'what if'.
According to bios at http://www.biography.com/search/article.do?id=360398&page=4, Palin and McCain(as of 4 years ago) hold different views on same sex marriages and the environment. That will be interesting.

Re license: if you don't need it then *shrugs*, it's nice as an ID but if you lived in D.C. or NYC a car would be VERY unnecessary and therefore same for the license. Cookies made without use of cookie cutter are more interesting and they taste better too. *pay no attention to the nibbling going on on your arm*

It's no fun when half your flist is calling you a fucking idiot, and the other half is calling your other friends a fucking idiot. Here's a shocking tidbit: I'm Conservative.

That's the weird thing that a lot of people don't get. Being (a) Democrat or (a) Republican is easy enough...it's the in-between that's a bitch. A lot of times, I *want* to vote Republican, but there are some things in the party platform that I just cannot agree with. At the same time, not voting at all just feels like a cop-out too...

At the same time, though, between you and your sister, it actually gives me *so much comfort* to know that I'm not the *ONLY* Conservative on LJ!

(I think I posted this once already, but basically, my political outlook is Burkean Conservative. 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'...or, more eloquently, "The world is too complex, the Burkean conservative believes, for rapid reform. Existing arrangements contain latent functions that can be neither seen nor replaced by the reformer. The temperamental conservative prizes epistemological modesty, the awareness of the limitations on what we do and can know, what we can and cannot plan." - The Republican Collapse, David Brooks.

I'm sick of politics too. My problem is, I don't really like either choice. I have conservative opinions and liberal opinions and both candidates seem to be trying to be too conservative or too liberal for me. I don't consider anyone an idiot just because they don't share my views but it irritates me when people make a choice without any reason. I've been staying away from all political discussions. It's pretty when you work for the gov't. I can't voice political opinions at work.
Anyway, I agree that this election is going to get annoying fast. I was sick of it before the candidates were even chosen.

Yay for new, shiny computer!

I've been staying away from politics this year. I mean, I'm informed and I know who I'm voting for, but I'm not talking about it. I tend to be very 'open mouth, insert foot' and turn into a jerk. Just look at the Bush/Kerry election. :(

If you live in an area where you have public transport, I don't see why you would need a driver's license. What's the point of getting sucked into having to pay for gas every week? IT'S NOT FUN.

Also, I'm VERY JEALOUS of you and your new computer. XD I think I'm going to have to start saving money to buy a new laptop - mine is starting to have issues.

Ha ha. Politics.

But on the other side... I don't have my license and, until a few weeks ago, did not have a credit card (debit works fine for me, thanks.) I was telling this to my roommate and she looked at me, totally bemused, and went "No credit card? And no driver's license? Are you a real person?"

'Nuff said.

b)Stupid
c)Prejudiced
d)A fundamentalist
e)Against anybody who show even slightly liberal tendencies
f)A Hater
g)All of the above
