Heheh I was just going to use that very product for my critique paper for my History of Medicine and Skeptisism. And wouldn't you know that the book we have to read is called Snake Oil Science! Hehe you would fit into my class well!!
I keep getting emails trying to get me to buy it too. I'm trying to get off their mailing list, but they keep coming back. Thought it was just me, LOL! Glad to know I'm not the only one!!
It's probably like that other South African stuff they were peddling a year or so ago that came from that bush or cactus or whatever... shit I can't even remember what it's called now, but it was all the rage.
People need to just eat properly and they won't have to chew on roots.
It always makes me laugh when I read these 'new medical discoveries' things. All these people go 'DUDE, WOLF BERRIES ARE AWESOME FOR YOUR EYESIGHT BUT THEY TASTE LIKE CRAP.' Because the chinese have known this and have been eating them for thousands of years by adding them in soups and whatnot.
We chinese make some awesome soup. Very healthy too.
As for this acai berry thing, you're better off drinking green tea everyday. Reduces cancer chances by 30%, apparently.
