I bought four ebooks last night. Only one of them was worth anything, but it reminded me of a book by the same authors that I read ages ago and I wound up rereading it and liking it as much the second time as I had the first. So, I rec (and I may have recced the second one before, I don’t remember).
The authors are Jennifer Urban & Elizabeth Silver.
The books are:
Where the Heart Is
Genre: LGBT Multicultural Menage
Jason, Steve, and Chris have seen each other through the toughest times of their lives, but when they’re snowed in together on their annual Thanksgiving ski trip, they learn that you can still have secrets even after twenty years. After Steve reveals he’s on the verge of a major decision that could break them apart, those secrets — their desires — might be the only thing that could save them.
Then a blizzard hits and snows them in, and there’s nowhere to run from the feelings they’ve been ignoring for years. None of them want to choose one and risk the other, but before the week is out, they’re going to have to find a way to make the three of them work again. If not, they’re going to lose each other after all.
This one I like because it could have dragged one forever and gotten tedious, or they could have gone on and on and on with the misunderstandings, but it never really got that bad. Jay is a little bit emo, but understandable and not unbearably.
My only minor minor beef is that the mild BDSM touches seemed completely unnecessary. It’s only in passing, really, so even someone who does not like that sort of thing will have no problems with this book. And the ‘vanilla outreach’ crack made me lawl. But the whole thing seemed irrelevant.
But, the chars were likable, the threesome believable, and who does not like a classic trapped in the mountains we must conserve heat! fic :3
Winner Takes All
Genre: LGBT Erotic Contemporary
Dominic Taylor and Matt Harris have been friendly rivals – with occasional benefits – for a few years. With the downturn in the economy, though, Matt’s business is struggling. Dom, whose company is doing well, offers Matt a bet that could help save Matt’s company. But the terms of the bet would literally put Matt’s ass on the line and change the dynamic of their friendship.
As the deadline approaches, they graduate from making out to making love, raising the stakes as they each come to terms with what they really want, and what really matters.
No matter who wins, there will be no going back for either one of them. Because the winner takes all.
My favorite part of this one was that the guy who issued the bet was not a jerk. I cannot tell you how many of these bet-type stories have a major fucking asshole for one of the MC’s. I also like that while the one guy is sort zomgI’mgay! I’m not driven absolutely crazy with it. They’re good guys, they’re not perfect, and they’re a lot of fun. I can honestly say I don’t read most of the ebooks I buy twice, and I’ve read this one 2.5 times (I skimmed my favorite bits at lunch today :3).
I hope others enjoy! ^_^
Added a few things to my website that I realized were missing, and an oldie that peeps keep asking about :3
There is now a drabbles section, which has all ten of the fairytale drabbles I have thus far written ^__^
Added the Knight of the Rose to the ficbits section.
Added several ficbits:
And a new gallery story:
Also updated the Published page with the books released over the past few weeks, check them out there or on LT3 :3
LT3 is currently seeking submissions for two anthologies! And we are always on the look out for ebooks and fairytales ^___^ If you’ve got something that sounds like it fits, polish it up and send it to us!
General submission info (expectations, rates, etc) is here.
I have also become obsessed with the Green Hornet movie because it’s fucking awesome, and wrote three fanfics for it so far, and I’ve a fourth half-written :3
Think that’s all for now :3
And Kato is awesome and badass and shiney, but NGL, it's Britt I love most <3
I swear I'll shut up soon. I haven't had a true fandom in so long, I forgot how much fun it is to be a silly fangirl :3
My book Midnight was recently released through LT3:
and it was given an awesome review by the Book Wenches!
Am currently collecting prompts from the Queensland Flood Auction I participated in. It’s a very interesting mix! After the stories are received by their respective winners, I will post them all here ^___^
LT3 has seen some improvements! The front page has changed slightly, and we now have a coming soon page! If you have not already looked, totally scope it out!
Lastly, I added my latest Sunday Snuggles to the ficbits section, a very silly little short about a knight and a priest :3 and an even sillier Cinderella knockoff :3
Read it here.
I, like, almost feel like a real writer or something :3
Do I email them and say thanks? I'm always very shy and stuff about that sort of thing. I tend never to read reviews and all because I like to remain oblivious and just keep writing. That's probably very stupid ^^;;; But, yay. Am happy #^_^#
Now to go make soup before my roommates beat me :3 And because Sasha says I can't have my book of poisons 'til dinner is done, she's so untrusting.
LT3 was Samantha's idea. I never would have had the brass, I was happy selling my own little efforts via lulu and amazon. Samantha came up with the idea, I just helped her carry it out. Then Sasha offered to do our webwork, since Sam and I are useless in that department, and she became our third partner. Sasha is our webmaster, Samantha is Editor-in-Chief and CFO, and those comprise three of the hardest damn parts of running a business, imho.
I was just the name to give us a starting point. We are a real, registered, professional press, for all that we're still new babyfaces on the scene. LT3 is not my little website, my little project. I don't post my own stories and then let in guest authors. It is our business. We hope soon to quit our day jobs and do LT3 full time. We want more writers, more stories, to be a bigger name on the scene. That is our goal. We take our business very seriously; it's not some little past time or game.
Again, I no one means anything by saying LT3 is mine, but it does a serious discredit to Samantha and Sasha. I might be the name everyone knows but they are the backbone. I would appreciate it, greatly, if people would get their information correct when they speak of LT3. We are a professional small press, and it is owned and operated by the three of us.
cobecat made me aware of a fic auction thingie going on to help Australia. Sammikins granted me permission to play*
So, I put up an offer to write five 1000 word fics. That means five of you can tell me what to do (sort of) if you give money to help unwater Oz
Click here, if you are inclined
nikerymis is offering shinies as well! Her bid is here
*Sammie is not actually an evil overlord who controls my every move. I am dangerously impulsive by nature, and I run things by her to make sure I am not getting in over my head and stuff like that.
This will probably take me awhile, since there is other shit I should be doing, but I know people really like jason/calvin and I felt bad I tore down the old site.
I have added everything I had and could find. I know there is stuff missing, though. I remember a couple more authors, and I would swear I had more artwork at one point. Again, if anyone can hook a sister up, that would be swell.

Um. I feel there was something--
Oh, yeah. I need to stop writing Sunday Snuggles. My latest one is trying to demand a 'how they met' story. I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR THIS YOU FUCKNG STORY AND IF I GET OFF TRACK ANYMORE THAN I ALREADY AM MY EDITOR WILL DESTROY ME AND HAVE MY SOUL FOR BREAKFAST.
Did not miss work. Blah.
Now must get a beer, and then finally do work. Good grief, where does the friggin' time go?
First off, Less Than Three Press is going to be at Wincon this year. We’ll be selling some of our print books, including The Bastard Prince, The Missing Butterfly, Embrace, Magic & Mischief, Midsummer Days, and Living Words (by Sasha L. Miller).
The editor in Chief will be arriving Thursday, the rest of us late Thursday night ^__^ We’ll probably nearly always be in the consuite, if you would like to drop by and see us (and buy a book or two :3).
In other news, I’ve been writing random fairytales here and there the last couple of weeks. I’ve not yet transferred them to my webpage, but you can find them on my LJ. I also have written a little short story, and a few Midsummer Baker drabbles.
When I get back from Wincon, I’ll transfer them properly to my LJ. Until then, they’re pretty easy to find:
