My sister sent me a video - an mpg. My windows media player gets the audio, but not the video. My DivX will get the video, but not the audio.

I'm sure the answer is obvious, and I'm just ignorant, but I would really the fucking thing to work the way it's supposed to work.

Issue resolved. Thanks, all, for the help ^___^

Yeah, I gathered that was the problem. It's just goddamn motherfucking annoying, b/c every goddamn time I fucking turn around, another bloody f'ing codec needs to be put in. I'm sick of it.

VLC player will solve all your codec woes! Or Windows media player alternative. But I like VLC more.

I second the VLC player. It's, like, the whore of players: able to do anything.

I third the VLC player, and upp it one notch by suggesting installation of the CCCP.

Hi
I think it's probably codec issues rather than the player itself so seconding the suggestion for CCCP or
[Error: Irreparable invalid markup ('<a href-http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_mega_codec_pack.htm>') in entry. Owner must fix manually. Raw contents below.]

Hi

WMP should be able to play all format just fine once codecs are installed

I will also recommend VLC, but if you would really prefer using Windows Media Player, you can download FFDShow. It installs all of the codecs for you. I'm writing this on the run, so I can't get you a link just yet, but I'll try to remember to do so later.

You could also just google FFDShow, and find the latest version of it.

I don't prefer anything. It's just what I had. Normaly between Media and Itunes, I have no trouble playing shit. But, I have VLC now and it seems to cover all bases.
