My family has spent its entire life moving - up until high school I never lived in one place for more than three years at a time. Personally, I loved it. The idea of staying in one place for more than five years or so boggles the mind. Technically I've lived here for eight years, but give that most of that was spent at college?

So all of this moving and I suck at packing. The rest of my family can do it, hell my parents have it down to a freakin' art (I'm serious, they can dismantle a room in like an hour flat, it's cool to watch). I, however, suck. This is why Megan has yet to start packing. However, day after tomorrow *moment to spazz* Sarah will be coming to take me to Cinci. So I suppose I should start packing.

We'll start with the books. Because I really hate packing clothes.

If it makes you feel any better today, (which I suspect it won't), I have to start packing today too. That requires a great deal of throwing SHIT OUT!!!! At least for me.

I need trashbags and the boxes from in the back of my SUV. But I need to be in the new place in approximately 9 days. Not much time to move heaven and earth, ne?

Oh, I hate that part the most!

9 days? You're better than I. Two days left and I haven't started. My apartment in college? Waited until I had only three days left.

Yeah. Wanna know something funny though? I'm a skilled mover like your parents... (if it must be packed overnight, I can do it)

But I never moved before I came to college. I lived in the same house in Carrollton for 17 years until I moved away to school.

But after 2 years of dorm life, a summer sublease and a unit change in my current complex, I should do fine. I can move all my stuff in less than a day by myself, and I already have offers for help... :-P

*spazzes too* I've got so much to DO *flails* I really should take tomorrow off... and if I hadn't already agreeed to cover the switch boards I'd bail at lunch XP

BUT! EEE! Basically I've got a 94 Ford Escort. We've got the trunk and all of the backseat to fill up!

*spazzes more* MUST FINISH PAINTING >_< [/spazz] ok I'm done now ;)

And I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy. Don't you wish you had the amount of space that I did? ;)

I'd start feeling bad again but I don't like getting whapped first thing after waking up. I still say you should wait to let me help.

Are you really sure you're up to that much driving in two days?

Notice I'm still not packing.

And I still say shush and let me whine for a few minutes and then I'll be happy and go back to work ;)

Yeah I'm fine! And I've got monday off so if I wuss out I'll just die in a hotel room for the night. No biggie! But I zone out when I drive. Christina kept asking me what was wrong on the way to Hilton Head.. I'd get all confused and she'd tell me that I hadn't said anything for the last hour and a half ;) I some how think that's not going to be a problem ;) I can see it now.. "are you ok s?" "yea why?" "because you haven't taken a breath in the last hour and a half..." ;)

Oh I notice ;)

*shushes*

Heh. Why am I not surprised? I'm not a talker in the car either, unless the driver happens to be chatty and then I just listen to them. Unless of course we get to squeeing about the boys or some such. Though I really would prefer if you keep breathing...

Hey, I'm feeling guilty about it. that counts right? *goes back to snape/lupin fics*

Urg.

That's what I have to say.

Urg.

I have no furniture to move. Just electronics, clothes and housewares.

That means I have no desk. No bed. No chairs. Just a TV and a Computer, that will not have internet access until I get a cable modem. *pouts*

It's not like you have much to pack (that you can or need to).
After all, how much can you fit in a Ford Escort?

Not that I'm speaking from a high horse. People always tell me I shouldn't wait until the last minute to pack. As it took me a week to move out of my apartment, I should've started at least 5 minutes earlier even.

you can fit more than you'd think.. I managed to move most of my stuff (other than the big furniture) from the old house to the new one in only a couple of trips. And some how I don't see M trying to cram a 300+ DVD collection with shelving unit, 30 plastic shoeboxes of craft stuff, a prom, a graduation, and a Christmas Ball dress, a TV, and other crap in the car like I did. ;)

You fit an entire prom in your car...impressive, I bet you were all the envy of the other kids.

I had my Escort Wagon.... and I think we may remember what we all fit in that thing. ;->

I seem to remember a certain day it was Meg, Meg, Allison, Ang, Mary, and Allie who all went to the grocery store and the Walmart there in Mechanicsburg, bought everything we needed and piled it all on top of the Deer in the back of the car. Then promptly stopped at McDonald's, stranding the buried Deer. ;->

My one other word of advice as a frequent mover (No, not as frequent as you, but still... not counting back and forth to college there was... NH-ME, ME-PA, To my own place, to Chicago, to Washington, and then a second move in Washington so far.) Just don't pack a box entirely full of books. Way too damn heavy... I figured that one out on the ME-PA move when I filled a huge box full of books and even my Dad couldn't lift it.
