I think I am going to rewrite Black Magic at some point. If I'm going to finish it, at this point, I have to start over. I can do it better now, anyway. Am looking forward to it.
Squee!! :3 That does sound like it could be a lot of fun. ^____^ I love your rewrites too, because it's not just a cleaning up of the old story. You really do go back and rewrite things which is just kind of zomg cool! ^_^ *glomps*
*glomp hugs* RL happens sometimes. ;3 But I look forward to it! (I was getting a little worried about you as you've been quiet this week. ^_^;; Hopefully, things are just busy and not shitty?)
Hey, it worked for Embrace and that turned out awesome!
Good luck! *snugs*
Oh, I used one of my snow days to read Midnight!! Brilliant, my dear. I was so not expecting many of the twists and I just adored Midnight. *squishes him* I love that you describe what Devlin thinks he smells like, b/c I was a little worried that he would smell bad like the other zombies. Ick. ^______________^
Anyway, it was awesome. Nothing less than I expect from you. *smoooch*
ALSO THAT WAS UH ME TEXTING YOU THIS MORNING. I REALIZED LATER THAT I DIDN'T MAKE THAT QUITE CLEAR. SO LEST YOU THINK IT WAS A RANDOM CRAZY PERSON - NO. IT WAS A FAMILIAR CRAZY PERSON! :D
Currently, it's at 137,000 words. It'll be right around 200,000 when I finish. So around 400 pages, roughly?? 39 chapters, plus the prologue and epilogue.
Also, Black Magic is already so awesome, I really look forward to see how you can top what you currently have. It's like, you manage what I think is impossible every time you get it in your head that something you've already written wonderfully sucks and needs to be redone.
The way you rewrote the Dagger story was pretty good, the changed story was different to be entertaining but also good in its own way.
The part that you have shown us of the rewrite of Kiss the Rain (I think its Kiss the Rain) has also been good.
Now, there is no way that I would not love your new version of Black Magic, though a part of me will be slightly sad that the origional doesn't have an ending of its own. Rewrites are awesome, and I am not knocking it or saying that I won't read it or any bullshit like that, but still, reading the new version and its ending will make me sad that the starting version just ends.
That said, since part one and part two of the current version of Black Magic are finished the parts that really made me love the story still exist. That way I can love five parts to a huge degree, and one part out of the six a lot. hehe :)
Anyway, I totally say go with it. Not that you need my opinion or support, but you have it. If you find that there is no way you can finish the current version as it stands, but that you can see yourself finishing it if your rewrote it, I am totally open for that.
I will have to say that after you finish it you either have to quickly produce it in physical book format or you need to give it free, as I will have to read it. Its one of my core stories that you wrote and that made me fall in love with your writing.
Umm, one more thing. I bought and read Midnight, and I had never picked up that that story was set in the same universe as your detective ones. Are almost all of your 'real world' stories set in the same timeline, just years apart, Im not sure. The fact that their are the Dragons in both of them really interest me cause I liked the dragons a lot. Which also leads me to ask - in the present day of your story timeline, is there still a dragon kingdom like there was in the Midnight timeline or have they been lost.
Also, did you write any stories about the vampires that you mention in Midnight, cause I loved them and thought they were cool and would have found it interesting to read more about. hehe
Anyway, that is it, your stories are great, rewriting Black Magic means it gets to finish which is awesome, and I love Midnight. :)
Write on, your awesome, and I cannot wait till more of your stories are physical book published, as I own them all and will buy any others you produce. :)
*massive squee and flailing like a duck* Black Magic was the very, very first story of yours that I read, back when I just started reading original slash stories, and remains my very favourite to this day (well, Necromancer, to be specific).
I'll take Black Magic sideways, upside-down, seven ways to Sunday, any way I could get it. XD You wrote the original (well, the first two parts anyway) where although there were plot threads hanging, could stand as is. And never has a story of yours disappointed yet, so I am also looking forward to it~ ^o^
