Alright, so here's what I've been working on for the past year or so - in conjuction with [livejournal.com profile] rykaine and [livejournal.com profile] nikerymis. We wanted to do things our way, so we're going to give it a try:

It's small right now, a very simple serial fiction site. We hope to expand once we have a firm grasp of things.

For the moment, however, stories available are Bound and a new collection of Fairytales, beginning with The Beast but eventually to include several others (including The Huntsman). Starting today, readers who sign up can read through chapter 3 of Bound and the first part of The Beast, as well as a bonus short story The Admirer(which is set in Kiss the Rain verse)

We've been working very hard on this, and really hope to see it become something awesome. Take a look if you're interested, any support is most appreciated ^__^

If you have questions/concerns/etc feel free to drop us a line, here or through the website.

I've subscribed! New chapter for Bound, yay! I do so love the new characters, and how Dieter and Beraht are still infamous. Question - how often will you put up a new chapter?

Never mind, I see it now. Semi-monthly, yes <3 ? Okay, I'm going to check out the other stories now.

Nice subscription fee. No really. ^^

Edit: realized this might be taken as sarcastic after I had a cup of coffee. What I mean is the fee is something easily affordable.

You were good ^__^ Someone else, I might have gone "..." but you were fly. It will go up as we add more stories, but I always want to keep it affordable.

.....You know what's sad? It took me a while to figure out what "less than three" meant.

I'm ashamed to call myself an internet-dweeb.

This is a great idea. I'm subscribed for Matthew Haldeman-Time's In This Land, and it's been going well.

I had a couple of questions though:

Are you still going to put stories on your website, or are they now going straight to Less Than 3? I assume the stories posted there wouldn't be available on your website (like not even in the future)?

They'll pretty much be LT3 now. And, eventually, we'll have ebooks and stuff in addition to the serial thing. This was just our best starting point.

May I make a suggestion? Under the Terms and Conditions section of the registration, you might want to make the links to the terms and payment schedules open in a new window instead of having the links take you to a different page. That way, the registration page will always be open and people won't have to keep clicking back to it.

Would it be possible for you to try and use another payment method besides PayPal, I am not sure if I like it or trust it.

Otherwise, awesome.

By the way, I do have a question, how will this effect your occasional book-bound published book? Because while online is good, it is not as awesome as holding a shiny new book in one's hands. :)

From: [identity profile] maderr.livejournal.com

We will eventually. This suits all needs best, atm.

My books will now be published through LT3, when I start publishing. That's one of our near-future goals, after we've gotten steadier on our feet and stuff.

Nice Site!

Eventually LT3 will be putting out ebooks and print books. It's one of our near-future goals, but we want to get the hang of what we're doing, first, before we start that - it's way more complicated as an official business vs. self-publishing, and way more expensive.

I'm SOOOOOOOOO happy that you accept stuff other than online payment, because it has been extremely frustrating to not being able to pay for my own books online because I don't have an account. CURSE MY YOUTH!!! Anyway, I will probably be sending checks in, because I do have a bank account. ^__^ This makes me very happy.

Hey. Love the idea and I'm glad you're doing this.

Just some clarification. I have a PayPal account but the registration page you all have posted is not a secure webpage so I don't want to sign up and risk someone hacking into the system and nabbing my info. But, I would love to register and support you all. Is there anyway you could get the registration page to be one of those secure pages? (They sometimes start with https, or some variation). Also, dead tree format books will be sold from this press, but will they be still available on Amazon? Or, only from here from now on?

Date: 2009-04-09 01:51 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] maderr.livejournal.com

After you enter the account details for registration, you're directed to a page that has a link to PayPal form. The PayPal form is secure and is where you enter your PayPal details. We never touch, see, or store any of your PayPal details or payment information -- that's all handled on PayPal's end.none of this. The only information we store is the account details you enter on the first registration page.
