I have read The Jungle, some of those others I've never heard of so I may add them to my list. I love good old books.

Speaking of not on the list, I was surprised to see Jekyll and Hyde wasn't on it. Along with more of Dickens - but then I just read'em. I don't know what decides they're classics.

i had an amazing set of lit teachers in highschool who made sure we read a ton. and they ended up adding a lot to my lists of it books to read. s. morgenstern's 'the princess bride' is a tough (and at times boring read) but after reading it follow it with the william goldman's good parts version and you'll totally enjoy it more. (well at least i did ^^;;)

and you're right. 'jekyll and hyde' wasn't on there. i don't actually think i read it. i've seen it on broadway and in the movies but i don't ever recall reading it. dickens i think is an aquired taste for some. some books i love, others were very dreadful.

i was surprised more of jane austin wasn't on there too. hmmm.
