SBRL 4ever!
Jun. 5th, 2004 08:54 pmYeah, even my brother couldn't have missed the catering to a certain slashdom in the Azkaban movie. *fangirl squee*
That aside, the only glaring disappointment was - as has already been stated - the fact that no one ever bothered to explain who the Marauders are. I suppose they had their reasons *pout* but there were a handful of scenes - especially right at the end - where they could have said "yo, here's who they are."
WTF happened to Draco? He's an annyoing brat, not a sniveling baby. Ugh, movie Draco isn't a match for Harry at all. In the books he's much more loathsome. And Hermione, jeez. I'm with
skylark97 - she's positively Mary Sue and I don't like it. I like Hermione in the books, in the movies I just want to kill her. Ah well. Some other chars were changed that I didn't much like, but I guess we can't have everything.
Remus I had been prepared to not like much. While he wasn't as I picture him, I have to say I think he was all right in the movie. Overall I can't complain - except maybe for the mustache and that's only if I want to get nitpicky. But Sirus. Perfect, perfect, perfect. When he and Remus hugged? And he was talking to Harry? And trying to help Lupin? *returns to fangirl mode*
Snape is such a bitch, I love that man to death. Look up bitch, there's his picture. In the books he's one of my fav chars (again with the shadowy chars), and overall I think Rickman does it verra well (if anything they don't let him be nasty enough).
Buckbeak couldn't have been done better; they really worked hard at that one and it paid off. I was most pleased. And there were all kinds of cute little moments that made the movie funeven if they should have used that time to put in more of what actually happened. The whole knightbus was cute and oh yeah! the map was neat! and the two playing the twins were perfect imho.
Okay, enough rambling. Overall I approve. Ah - didn't like the new Dumbledore as much. And except for their wearing too much damned street clothing I like the new directing. This movie had a much darker feel, which is fitting. Book three is where things start getting more serious *wince* so it's fitting.
Argh. No more talking. Go see movie.
I need SBRL and SSRL icons *goes hunting*
**edit** Forgot something - was not expecting Remus' werewolf form to look quite like that. For some reason I just thought he looked like a wolf...
