Around the World in 80 Days
Jun. 27th, 2004 11:13 pmIs pretty much nothing like the book. But fucking hysterical. I reccomend seeing it just for the laughs. And the short scene that had the Wilson brothers as the Brothers Wright. Very good movie; for once I'lll forgive it for more or less ignoring the book on which it's based.
Am currently re-reading the book; I read it in....5th Grade? I remember I liked it, seems I still do.
*is not thinking of rewriting it slashy style b/c she has more than enough to do already and sucks at period settings anyway*
Ah yes, my two favorite lines in the entire movie:
"Oh great, it's Mr. Grumpy and the Leatherettes."
"You had me at the nipples..."
And now! Renfaire costume! Sarah made this for me, completely on her own - she made the pattern herself and everything. Isn't is swanky? I can't wait to wear it to the fair!

Date: 2004-06-28 05:07 am (UTC)there's no slash in 80 Days, but it'd be way easy to write it into the story. Something I may do in the future, after I've finished the two dozen projects I'm working on now.
It's definitely a family movie - the line is harmless enough in context.
Renfair is just the short way of saying renaissance fair. This will be the first time I've gone in costume!

Date: 2004-06-28 06:03 pm (UTC)*snerk* no, it's just funny to do anyone. Generally if it doesn't improve the story, it freaks people out enough that it improves my mood. So it's all good.

Date: 2004-06-28 02:25 pm (UTC)Wow, that's a pretty dress. n_n Although, what's with the little strip of blue around the front? It throws the whole corset-edy look off. But it's *very* nice. *eye kinda glaze over* Give my regards to the tailor person. ^^
