So my fluff challenge is supposed to originals only...then a girl from the yaoi comm asked if she could just submit a fanfic since she sucks at originals and I said sure before I thought about it.

Because it really isn't fair is it? Ugh, I should've just made it open to begin with and spared myself this flare of idiocy. I mean I know a few people probably would have preferred to write fanfics rather than original, and it's kind of mean to change the rules now but I can't just change my mind - the girl is really sweet and it's only my impulsive nature that got me into this fix.

Blarghness

On a completely unrelated note, I seem to have created a story that *gasp* has a female protagonist and *double gasp* next to no slash. It's only a teeny part of the whole story and you never really hear (or see) much about it except indirectly.

I was thinking of playing with it on fp.com, create a new identity and moonlight as a het writer. Oh, vile betrayer me. I was trying to decide on what alcohol to call myself after. Whiskey? Hmm...

Also related to this story, I need to find a good place to research Revolution-period America and....I'm thinking 20/30's America. Maybe 40's.

I'm switching b/t that story, Embrace, and a Greek story right now. If I finish the first chapter, I'll post it here for your amusement.

Also unrelated, I got a call from City Group. Not sure what that is, but I'm thinking it's something financial. Which means I'm probably in deep shit. B/c being completely broke I haven't been able to pay my bills and all. Blah.

Well just divide it up into two different categories. People can enter a story in both original and fanfiction if they want. More stories that way, you know ;)

*g* INFEDEL!! What about Whiskey Sour? An amusing play on names ;)

OO! I know they are financal something but I wouldn't worry too much!

There's a drink called Amaretto Rose. Maderr & Rose have a love child? ^^

I figure if you are doing het, then you need a name like Harvey Wallbanger. ^^

Of course this site lists a drink called Hey Bitch, Come Here.

I can't vouch for M but I can tell you Rose is rather squicked out at the moment ;)

Heh that actually sounds good ;) And it was submitted by a Star! I think I have to try it ;)

Amaretto and lime juice?! Oh, sounds gooood.

Those other two sound interesting. Where do people get these names?

Well, Harvey Wallbangers were mentioned in every other episode of Night Court . . .

That's an idea.

TWIN. That's what I was thinking. Though I like maiel's Tonic idea too.

I see why you thought you were in trouble.

I have all the ideas! ;)

*g* Like you said we should be used to it by now but ooooooh! ;) Tonic is good too though!

-_-;;; I was not a happy camper.

Right.

After I beat the propensity to say "I'm sorry" after every statement, that's next.

*glomps* Sorry.

I seem to have created a story that *gasp* has a female protagonist and *double gasp* next to no slash.

Actually, that's kinda really cool! *bounces* I'm always curious to see how people who write predominately slash write het when they do it.

Um, plus, I just like reading your stories. ^-^

Heh, I'm actually really taken with the story. I'll probably post it later tonight. It's called The Crystal Ball and it's about ghosts and seances and all that cool stuff.

wait wait wait.. I just reread this.. Do you think City is trying to get money from you? Because they are a BIG employer here. They are always running radio ads looking for people. I didn't even think about the money side. If they are calling you then I'm 95% sure it's about a job not money :)

Wait. I thought I was going to hell because I wrote slash.

Now I'm all confused.

Well, it's simple really. Not writing Slash when you're hell bound is a sin in Hell, and therefore negates your comfy little corner of Satan's fire. Now see what you've done? You'll miss the galant party!

Greek stories! Hurrah! I think your spin off of the greek mythology with Cupid was really good and creative. It was one of the reasons why I stalked and friended you >> Hee!

Mm I think I'll get comfy and read your Greek stories for bedtime tonight XD LOL I remember snuggling up in bed and reading a book about Greek mythology when I was younger and now I'm reading fiction about them hehe

No slash?

The horror!

Since I have no plans for the weekend, would you like to get together and watch some movies on Friday?
My place is available, as always.

S had mentioned the zoo & discount tickets last weekend. As a suggestion, a group of us could go do that on Saturday.

Let me know if any of that sounds good or if anyone has a counter-suggestion.

*shrug* Well we've been conscripted by the parental unit for manual labor so I don't think that'd fly too well.

So my fluff challenge...

You are the god of this little contest, you can do as you please. Besides, you're not changing them in a bad way, you're opening up to more content. And, I don't see any place where it says you can only submit one reply to the challenge, so people that submitted originals can still submit fanfics if they please. =)

On a completely unrelated note, I seem to have created a story that *gasp* has a female protagonist and *double gasp* next to no slash.

=D I've got one of those eating at my attention span as well. (Then Speed Racer runs it over with the Mach 5, and I'm back to slashing.) There's nothing wrong with being able to write in multiple genres. It just proves your flexability as a writer.

Whiskey?

Moonshine! XD

Also related to this story, I need to find a good place to research Revolution-period America and....I'm thinking 20/30's America. Maybe 40's.

I've done most of my research through the History Channel, but that's not the most reliable of sources. Not because of their content, but because you can't always catch the shows you need. =/

Just do a general search on the era and you should be able to find some pretty good pages for them. Also, any movies focusing on the time period can give you a very good look at the clothing and general look of the time. The Untouchables and The Road to Perdition are my faves for the 1920's mob era. For the Revolution, The Patriot is the only one that comes to mind...

Oooh, I love The Untouchables. I should find time to watch my copy again.

Yeah, finding revolution period movies is a tough one. Civil war is easy though.

Oooh, I love The Untouchables.

The shootout scene with the baby carriage drives me crazy with suspense and I can't watch it if I want to spend the rest of the day tension free.

Heh. Well, it is truly one of the best scenes ever filmed.
I'm so watching that again this weekend now that you're getting me all psyched about it.
