Ramble ramble

maderr*headdesk* Still need to work on those doujin stories. Argh - I like finally having a job but I really really really miss having time to write.

starparty and I are currently cleaning out and renovating her family's old house, hopefully to move into it ourselves by early september. So that's eating my free time right now -_-; I apologize to those of you to whom I owe stories. I will get to them, sleep deprived or no.
Speaking of writing. Crystal Ball. I would like to work on it more, but am impeded by the challenge of never having written period pieces before. I doubt it will be as important as I think it is right now, but still I would like to practice writing a period piece before I attempt to do a handful of "ghosts" from various and sundry periods of time.
So. About half way down on my long, long list of "story concepts and idea I would like to redo/revamp," is written "Highwayman story." I have an idea for it - I think a decently cool idea for it. But I need two things - the name of a Brothel and a name for a Highwayman. Any ideas? I don't want it to be a long series, probably about 50-70 pages or so total. I'm hoping to write it all at once and then post it serial like or something. We'll see. That probably actually won't happend until A) I finish Treasure, B) I get my Christmas stories written and C) I finally catch up with what I owe ggs and Sky.
On the positive side, I'm really cracking down on Treasure whenever I'm able to sit down and write. It would make Megan verra happy if she could finish this story before the year is out. I could, in theory. It's just back to that whole finding time to do it thing.

Date: 2004-08-15 06:28 pm (UTC)That's something I need to figure out tonight. Most of the novels I'm inspired by I think are termed 'regency' romances, but I'm thinking that's a little late for highwaymen. So 1700's-ish? I dunno, for all that I'm an historian dates are not my thing >_<
