All of chap 2 is still really rough, I apologize.

"Never!" Azrael roared, summoning a burst of his divine energy and sending Rabdos realing back and stumbling to the ground. His wings flared, the blue-black feathers all but invisible against the night sky. "I'll destroy myself long before I'll submit to a Fallen."

Rabdos laughed mockingly as he picked himself up off the groud, brushing bits of grass from his black pants and long-sleeved dark red t-shirt. "Awfully proud for an Archslave, Az."

"Give me back Gabriel's Star!"

"I don't think so," Rabdos brandished his knives. "You and the rest of the mysterious Thirteen have always had the pleasure of traipsing at will between the earth and sky. You have no idea what it's like to be always in the dark. Now that I'm able to roam free again, not even the Apocalypse will that away from me."

"I don't need the Apocalyps to put you in your place!" Azrael swung out, the sounds of metal against metal jarring in the eerie stillness.

Rabdos blocked his swing and shoved him back, "Still as arrogant as ever, Az."

"You have no room to talk!"

"I wasn't in the mood for talking anyway," Rabdos said with a mocking leer, blocking another swing so that they were both at a stand still. He leaned across the locked weapons, "I'd rather see you on your knees."

Azrael narrowed his eyes, kicking out and sliding his sword away. In the next breath he was surging forward again. He laughed coldly, "I think my poison is having an effect after all. Or did you simply forget how to heal while you were slinking around in the dark?"

Rabdos frowned, dancing away from Azrael's strikes. "What are you blathering about?" He pressed the fingers of his right hand to his wounded cheek, hissing in displeasure when he realized the nick was still there - and still bleeding.

"Maybe it can't kill you," Azrael mimicked Rabdos' smirk, "But clearly my poison likes eating your flesh."

Rabdos grinned viciously back, "How like an Archangel to give a kiss that harms."

"Lord Azrael!" A frantic voice interrupted. They jerked their heads up, to see Nakir and Munkar just barely visible against the dark sky. It was Nakir who had spoken, as they gaped at Azrael and the Fallen he was battling. The dark angel's eyes were wide, "Is that-Rabdos

"Star Stopper?" Munkar echoed. "Does that mean..."

"Che. Time to go." Rabdos tilted his head back to look at the sky, and his eyes flashed a bright, burning white. Around them the angels felt the world shudder, as if released from a tight, suffocating grip. In the next breath, Rabdos was gone.

"The Star Stopper," Nakir said. "What was he doing here? Does that mean Hell is involved after all?"

Munkar had fallen silent, pensive.

Azrael vanished his sword and shook his head. "No...at least not those in Hell about which we were worried. This is something else altogether. However," he continued heavily, "It means we'll probably have to drag Lucifer into it anyway. We probably would have anyway at some point, but this means we'll have to do it a lot sooner." He grimaced and fished a cigarette from his coat, "What are you two doing here?"

"Ruman was attacked."

"What!" Azrael dropped his cigarette, "Is he-"

"No" Nakir said hastily. "He's okay - barely."

Munkar was grim, "He caught Azza searching your study."

Lighting a fresh cigarette, Azrael cursed fluidly. "Let me guess - he was searching for information about Court."

"How?"

"Didn't you notice who I was fighting?" Azrael half-glared at them "Rabdos has Gabriel's Star of Passage. He was trying to take mine. It isn't hard to guess that the Seven are part of the Court of 13. It's the other six they're probably having trouble with. Although Rabdos might have deduced that you two are part of it."

The twins cursed.

Azrael rubbed his forehead wearily, pulling heavily on his cigarette. "Have you fetched Four and Twenty?"

"They're already on their way home."

Finishing his cigarette, Azrael flexed his wings and lifted into the sky. "Then let's go."

Oh, I don't know if you noticed Rabdos' voice described as Brandy - that was a nod to you, dearest Sip.

Hee hee!
