Dear Highly Educated Lawyers Who Are Better Than Everyone Else,

There is a difference between 'good' and 'well.' Please learn it, because you sound really dumb telling one another and "I'm doing good" and "Oh, we did good" in the elevator.

Your Uneducated Mail Lackey,
Megan

Well, shit. I didn't think I'd be in that much trouble.

It's [livejournal.com profile] mewbert, I believe, that may be hitting you up.

Not mad; something resembling mildly 'oh... ok.'

Would you mind if I asked? ^^;;; But I figured it might be nice to actually be friends first.

Hee. I never mind being a beta. It gives me a constructive outlet for all that bitchy, critical tendencies in my head. :P

First Elena Borisovna wants to pimp us out to the goddamned poet, now you're trying to pimp me out to... I've not damned idea whom--but that's really not the point.

The point is: you don't freakin' own me or my goddamned grammar.

hmph [grumblegrumblegripgrumble]

Shouldn't I have some say in the sharing of my mad skills?

Of course not, don't be ridiculous.

sometimes people just boggle me.
It's like at work, how many times a day can a hear a cel phone convo that starts with "where you at?"

It's like being grammatically correct is either difficult or unfashionable. I really *really* wish stupidty would become unfashionable.

I should start answering my phone at work with "hello, where are you located at this time?"

You might confuse the people on the other end.

There's a movie you should see called Haiku Tunnel, it's been playing on IFC this month if you can catch it. It's about a novelist who starts work as a temp (then a perm) at the S&M lawfirm. Very funny movie. I watched it and thought, "I wonder if [livejournal.com profile] maderr's life is like this?"

Suddenly I am reminded of work. My relocated office is directly behind the front check in desk for the clinic. There is a phone there that the clerk is expected to answer. The Clerk position is filled by one of the Corpsmen every day as we lost our Clerk and have yet to replace her with a new civilian. Hopefully a civilian with some phone manners.

"Hold on a sec" is really not a professional way to ask someone if they are willing to hold, or are simply transferring a call. Just one peeve among many that I hear everyday...
