He's a professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at UNC-Wilmington. He writes for Townhall.com and some other online newsletters.
Recently he's gotten into a little spat with Professor Clifton Snider of California State University, Long Beach over the content of Prof. Snider's syllabus and research paper topic.
The whole sordid affair can be found here under the titles Shut Up and Teach, Shut Up and Sue, Cliff's Notes, and the impotence of being earnest.
Mike Adams? Well, for once I'll get to hear the man talk. Certainly a change from the endless array of .txt from him.
7 pm correct? Perfect.
Oh, and I was told you had planned to converse with me during my stay with M&D dweeb. Did I miss a call or simply fail to sign onto a messenger? Meh, I am slackening in my correspondence so my pardons for seeming anti-social.
I am rather curious as to how the man will be in person rather than text. I think it redundant to state that people always appear more positively in .txt. I hope he hold true to his word, so to speak.
The fault was mine, I got busy and failed to call as I had intended. Sorry I missed, but I suppose I'll see you at Christmas.
One does not simply "take care" after 4.5 hours of tedious chair warming behind a desk. I am .5 hours away from leaving my horrendous job for this day.
On a side note, I'm 80 pages into "The Sum of All Fears," by Tom Clancy and I am amazed they even made that into a movie. There is seemingly no connection that I can possibly fathom between what I have read now and that which occurred in the movie. It may well be worse than the Bourne Supremacy. Which I have not, nor ever will, see unless it's on someone else's tab. Preferably someone I dislike.
My sympathies? It should have clicked for me that you must be bored - my lj is about the barrel's bottom in your sphere of online entertainments ^_~
The image of you going to a movie you're going to hate with someone you dislike makes me giggle. It's just a funny image.
I was under the impression you were getting a different job on campus. I am guessing that fell through? My sympathies; these days I know all about tedious jobs that drive you to contemplation of thoughts both murderous and suicidal (or at least severely unpleasant).
I am not the member of the family renowned for a multitude of multimedia occupations. I have my select sites, and have not in months added or removed anything from my favorites list. So in most cases I am indeed without a sufficient means of occupying my time online when I am away from my small stock of games and articles. I am always at the bottom of my barrel, you with your endless communities would seem the one less prone to desperate circumstance.
And besides, despite my discontent toward the phone-tag style manner of forum dialogue, it is none-the-less an outlet to conversation I am otherwise unable to obtain in my confined quarters.
No decent messenger being the reason. I wish they'd let me bring my hardrive over here. -_-'
Regardless.
Good weekend? Which one? The last one or the coming one? Given it's Thursday I must act like a democrat and stare blankly at what I assume is an obvious question that I simply failed to understand.
You know, people like to say I write with some sophistication, but goddamn boy. You're having a conversation about the depths of your boredom. The way you phrase it, you could very well be discussing something of a far grander design.
When the time comes, I think I'll just use you as a case study for my dissertation. I'm sure I can fit it in somehow.
And you might apprecaite this. My current translation assignment is a sociological study/break down of subcultures in Russian provinces in the late 90s. Well... you could appreciate the sociology part of that, anyway...
In regards to The Sum of All Fear. It's probably the same case as Bourne. Due to the date and techonologies, the situations in the book are not exactly in accord with the times, so the tweek it. I think they did the same thing with The Runaway Jury, too. I think the situation and trial in the movie is not the same as that of the book--but I may just be remembering wrong.
I am not simply stating that the time and place of SoAF is different, that I could understand, but the complete alteration of the books main character and other characters is easily prevalent in the earliest pages. That disgusts me, but I guess most movies do that, still though it is a shame.
Meh, and you are certainly not the one to consider my ramblings in any way flourished or overly complicated. ;) You're just as prone to switch around words to add a little variety and flavor to an otherwise boring topic.
And besides, who ever said simplicity was in refraining from extended dialog? Certainly not me.
Yay, finally back on a competent computing system.
I think perhaps my teasing manner is not carrying through my words. Apologies for a poor (and failed) attempt at a jest.
I was referring to this upcoming weekends, sorry for the ambiguity.
If you're ever *that* desperate for something to do, I reccomend flipword on msn games and typershark (I think is the name) on popcap.com They're less mindless than most online games and will actually give you something to rather than simply wasting your time.
