Since I can't read the original post, I'm not really going to comment, other than there have been enough stories that ANYTHING that mentions physically harming or killing of the president (whether in jest or not) will bring the Secret Service or FBI to come visit with you.
Saying "he's an idiot" or "his policys suck" is one thing, saying something off hand like "maybe he should be hit by a truck" is NOT what you want to be doing.
Honestly, though, everyone can have an FBI file. Dad got one after he got back from Vietnam, because he walked *PAST* an SDS rally on his way to register for classes. The government had photos of that when my Uncle came up for his Military Intelligence top level clearance.
Anyone who doesn't believe this actually happens doesn't understand how the government works. There are laws in place to prevent sedition and internal terrorism. Slip up once, and you're watched. For ever.
Oooh...I'm not posting anything political in my journal anymore. Okay, that's an out and out lie, but I WILL be more careful as to what I say, because, you know. I don't want any visitors.
Well, I'm sure that I've been banned from ever attempting to enter Israel. I'm sure Mossad has a file on me somewhere.
What a bunch of FUCKERS! You know, I've actually thought about that a couple times... self-censoring and all that... why don't we just declare the USA a military state and call it a nice experiment in democracy, but it blows.
You now have an FBI file! Yay! That's actually kinda boring. Cause I can't honestly imagine this going beyond being a novelty story in a few years. Did you at least try to punch one of them?
And who said something about a military state? That's ignorant blather . . . OK no it's not, but the US is far from a military state when it takes precautions to guard what is undoubtedly one of the most powerful positions in the global arena.
Besides, no one's rights have been violated have they? The Internet is public domain with no restrictions and as she said, someone reported her. So fairs fair. I have more respect for the SS now than I did before. And also a little bit less, so I guess I'm back where I started. Damn . . .
Regardless, superb job getting the government on your hide for at least one day. ^-^ Not many people can say that!!
Heh. I can always count on you to say "boring" and "fun" where everyone else is saying OMGWTF?!?!?! You make solid points, dear brother. But you know that.
You know, I'm really tired of the anonymous posting, because if you have something to say, you should really try and take the high road and post your real name.
I think some people need to understand how to filter sarcasm and anger out of the original post before they attempt to refute. Especially when their command of English grammar only extends into the vernacular.
Do you mean the post above? That's my brother, he's not hiding. Believe me, he'd never hide his name to state his opinion. He couldn't anyway, he talks like a textbook - you can pick him out at a hundred yards just by his manner of speech.
