I just wrote "more clever" and my spell check insists it should be "cleverer." Is that grammatically correct? Because it doesn't seem like it to me.

Am I weird?

Is it strange that I get so wrapped up writing that I get nervous, sad, angry, etc. when my characters go through those emotions? It seems normal and weird all at the same time to me.
