Maybe longer than I looked at 'em X_X It's hard to know what you're getting when all you can see is a small picture of the cover over the internet (and the description says "nekkid people" - ok, so that was often enough).
Besides, isn't it a rule that all anime/manga characters have to be high school anyway? At least I managed to never buy anything with puppy love, or worse. And, aren't all the Gundam Wing boys like 12 :P
What I sometimes do is read a favorite piece of fiction, watch a good movie, listen to a great song, view a painting that touches my imagination and then try to double that feeling in my own work. =)
Thurber's "Secret Life of Walter Mitty", any Miyazaki film, American Pie's a GREAT song, and the Rene Magritte I have online here would be my suggestions, but whatever works for you.
You are more than welcome to have any inspiration left over from that fanfic I did. I'm going to be so busy, I don't have time to do the proper care and maintenance.
