It was most definitely worth the *omfgkillmeorIwillkillyou* of Thursday and Friday.

Spotting my parents as they arrived to greet me was perhaps the happiest sight of my life. Never have I been more relieved to see friendly faces. The ride home was fun, catching up and talking about presents. Then when I got home my sisters came out to greet me ^_^ Have not heard "Meggie" in forever (Sammie and Brandie are the only ones that call me that), and it was lovely to hear. Got to see my kitty! And she remembered me and even seemed happy to see me. Tons of presents under the trees.

And my asshat brother was asleep. The nerve! I woke him up, and added yet another mark to his "Reason To Kill Megan When I Take Over The World" list. He picked a fight later the next day, and I am ashamed to say that it was more or less a draw when we were forced to stop. Assless stickboy he might be, but there's muscle in there. And he cheats.

Got two volumes of Heat Guy J, some nice gloves, a gameboy advance and Chain of Memories (which my brother wasted no time no in borrowing XP), a really kickass comic book (which I've read like three times already) from Sammie and Brandie got me a really kickass gift which isn't ready yet - but I will share when it is done and arrives.

My dad got me this jacket I'm absolutely in love with. The fur-trimmed hood is my favorite part and it's insanely warm and makes Megan very happy. Also got the entire set of A&E's The Scarlet Pimpernel, and this really funny Dickinson plushy of the school name. Got other stuff, but am sleepy and blanking on it.

Got ham, sweet potato casserole, APPLE PIE, fried chicken, my mom's biscuits, all kinds of good stuff. And Sammie mad sausage balls. I also brought back a fruitcake which is actually good, and I plan on making everyone at least try it. Only fruitcake in the world which I'll eat.

Spent most of my time watching the various movies and anime we all got for xmas. We watched Family Guy, Southpark, Eddie Izzard, Getbackers, Heat Guy J and Columbo. And this really awesome bad movie Brandie got (she's got something of a fetish for bad movies, and a knack for just randomly finding them. I think the prize is the one about the skull of the Marquis de Sade made in like the seventies) called White Zombie. It was a riot.

It was fun. I wish I could have stayed longer but eh. It's also good to be back in Cinci.

Oh, yeah! Will have to find link. My story for the Yuletide secret santa thing was a Kurogane/Fai from XXXholic. It rocked. Totally awesome fic, she wrote the characters spendidly. Must go find link.

Must also get cracking on my revamping of Unequal. Does anyone care enough about that story that they'd like to see it as I demolish and rewrite it? Or should I just keep the harassment exclusively to my poor betas?

Goals for the next two months:
Unequal Children
Story for Seahawke
Finish Geniuses
Finish Treasure
Ken/Nagi fic
Hardy Boys fic
More Greek stories (because someone wrote a dionysus/hephaestus fic for the yuletide thing and now I really really want to write more greek stuffs. it is my Favorite Fandom, hands down).
Edit Kidnapped
New Fairytales (because I miss writing them a lot. I've really gotten lazy and sloppy lately with my writing. Time to fix that)

Heh, yeah. I've been whining too much of late. I wanted this post to be seperate so that it was obvious I had a good time and a bad time, and that the good wasn't lost in the bad.

Hope your headache goes away babe.

Definitely sugary goodness. I'm sorry I'm not making that clear - I think I was focusing too much on figuring out what you didn't like, b/c you'd mentioned beta-ing. I luff these boys, you know that.

Sounds like a wonderful person! I approve of her already.

White Zombie... wonder if that's what the band WZ named themselves after? Given that many of their songs were inspired by other old horror flicks, I wouldn't be surprised.

*pounds table* Unequaled Children! Unequaled Children!

*reads the rest of the list and eee's* FAIRY TALES! FAIRY TALES!!!

I'm so very glad you made it home. You and S should open the box and celebrate. (Why no, as a matter of fact that's not a hint. ^_^)

Is there a particular fairytale you'd like to see? I find I always work better when I'm writing requests.

Hee. I plan on opening that box the very second I get home.

The Prince and the Pea? Oooooo! I know! What would your take on Puss in Boots be?

Date: 2004-12-28 02:49 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] maderr.livejournal.com

Puss in Boots I am currently fighting with, b/c I haven't come up with a suitable way to butcher it yet. Princess and the Pea...I shall ponder. There's gotta be a cool way to butcher that one.

*Alison likes catboys.* =3 *And slash.* Ergo, Puss in Botts sounds like fun.

What I remember of the princess and the pea, I don't remember liking. A girl so frail she could feel a pea under many, many matresses kind of got on my nerves. If I'd have been old enough to know what a "mary Sue" was, I'm sure I'd have dubbed the princess just that. I will damn near plead with you to change the situation, but keep the same premise.

HBO back in the good old days, did a series of fairy tale renditions that had Liza Minelli as the princess in the Princess and the Pea. The princess was a smartmouth, the prince was a wimp under the heel of a demanding mother, and she managed to find a backbone for him when he decided that he was marrying her whether or not his mom approved.

As it turned out, the REAL reason she tossed and turned all night was because she was afraid of heights, and the pile of mattresses put her right up to the ceiling, and the Queen took away the ladder.

I think the coolest versio I ever saw of the P & P was in a book of mine called "Ever After" and the princess was all bruised and stuff from having to climb up the pile of mattresses and blankets - she started of grabbing the soft satins and silks, and kept slipping and getting banged up. Then she switched to the blankets of coarser fabric for handholds, and made it to the top. I always thought that was pretty neat.

It was a great Christmas. Have the best family anyone could dream up. Great conversations and great food. Everyone having fun doing their on thing and butting into other's stuff. Very close quarters here, not much room. But lots and lots of love and fun. And my prayers answered. So what if you don't believe in God, he believes in you. Ha Ha Ha
Love You Monster, You are The Best.

Glad you had fun, loved seeing you even for just a few days. What will amuse you more is that Sammie kept opening the door everytime we heard a car stop outside to see if it was you. The book you left was good, but they chickened out in the end and married chicks. Very annoying. Even one of the girls said they loved each other. Blah. It was good though. And I love my gifts. Love ya!

*shakes head* Stupid men. That's okay, I'll read it and just pretend they never married the damned women. Freakin' authors need to stop wussing out.

Yay! ^_^ Glad you liked.

Why is Embrace not on this list. WHY?

Right. Greek story. You should totally make a male version of Persephone/Hades.

Lovelovelove. JOY. I will totally forgive you from the Embrace-lackness if you do that. XD;
