My coworkers were discussing pancakes. So not fair. Now I really really really want pancakes. But am broke, and shouldn't be eating out anyway. Then again, we do get paid this friday. Hee.

Pink Carnation has me giggling like a mad fiend. And it gives me hope that those of us that write funny, nonsensical stories just for the sake of writing funny, nonsensical stories can be published.

Am heartily sick of folding these damn media advisories, but alas we have 1000+ to go. *gets back to work*

Oh. Speaking of writing - finished my V-day story last night and finally figured out how to start the next chapter of Treasure. *is tempted to bounce gleefully*

Okay, okay. Really should get back to work now.

You could try to self-publish thru this site: http://www.lulu.com/ You can find all the details here: http://www.lulu.com/static/on-demand-books1.php

It's kinda like how Cafepress is set-up, on-demand selling of items, just that this site does books & calendars. You pick the ammount of your royalty, they add 25% of your royalty price to get the final price of the item.

The site does mention that you can get ISBN numbers for the book, so people should be able to order them thru bookstores. Though the 2 ISBN services they offer cost money, so might not be important.

Figure you might like the info...

Actually, there are a few sites that do self-publishing

http://www.lulu.com/
http://www.iuniverse.com/
http://www.xlibris.com/
http://www.authorhouse.com/
http://www.trafford.com/
http://www.booklocker.com/
http://www.pabd.com/

Guess you have a few options if you wanted to go the self-publishing route.

I knew there was something I forgot to do on LJ land. I meant to thank you for pointing that out to me the other day. You always do when you find stuff ^_^ I've thought about self-publishing before, maybe I'll look into it again.

Well, from looking at the lulu.com site, you keep the rights to everything, it's free to set-up, there is no minimum order required, & you get a page on their site that you can use as a "storefront" to sell your item. The only things you'd have to pay for are optional things like ISBN numbers & color image covers. If there isn't a minimum page requirement, take something you've already finished & see what happens. Worst case is you'll decide that the set-up is too hard & give up.

Well my skillz aren't as good as IHOPs but you want me to make pancakes for dinner tonight :)

That would actually go well with the (I can't spell it so it's going to be phonetical) Punch-keys I bought at Graeters for us :)

Pancakes!

Or if you're REALLY into pancakes and want them twice this week (in addition to Starparty's) someone you know is coming back into town this week and really likes IHOP....and if there's any money left from the trip she might treat...!

Oooooo! IHOP Pac-a-nacks!!

That may be the only thing that gets me home. A foot of snow is predicted here for tomorrow night...a perfect excuse not to drive anywhere.....!

Heh. You are bound and determined never to return, aren't you?

But consider that a date...or something.

If I thought I could get away with it I wouldn't come back, you're right. I don't think I could strand you with that group without proper notice, though!

Oh god, the flashback of folding thousands of mailings....

I'm glad you've found something fun to read. I've been going over old stuff myself.

You should see the bankruptcy mailings. Gads I've never seen so many trees killed in one day. Where did you work that you got stuck doing mailings?

Pancakes, schmancakes. You can write TREASURE! *is happy* I should make you a present. ...yeah, right. I suck at presents. How about my eternal gratitude, groveling, and worship? And some caffeine and coffee. *offers*

and a poem from my favorite movie EVER:

Nobody sits like this rock sits. You rock, rock. The rock just sits and is. You show us how to just sit here and that's what we need.

The fact that you haven't given up on me is all the present I need ^_^

Though I do like the poem.

mmm... pancakes...

mmm... Treasure...

In other news, called M because skipping classes bored me out of my damn mind. Found out, D skipped work, too. So it's not just me. Anyway, told BJ to give me some parameters for a V-day story. She didn't really, beyond a name, but apparently that was all I needed.

Brandie was concerned for my sanity by the time I was done laughing over it. Just wait.
