Earned my pay today
Feb. 9th, 2005 04:50 pmSo. This secretary calls me early afternoon and says she'll have a filing at four. No good, b/c the hamilton county courthouse closes at four. But we can take it to the Justice Center, which I explain to her, so all is well. Then the lawyer she works for calls me and says no, it's for the federal court - which closes at five. Okay, fine.
Go on the 2:30 courthouse run, get back at twenty-five to four. Turns out that filing in question isn't for the Federal court. It's for Hamiliton - which is about a 10-15 walk. So I had to book it back to the courthouse.
It's a ten block walk, round trip.
How does a lawyer not know which courthouse he's filing at?!?!?
*is dumbfounded*
So that was my amusement for the day.
