I have been wanting to write this part forever, but now that I've finally reached it it's just coming off as completely awkward. I dunno, I'll wrestle with it some more. I know how the rest of the chapter will go (more or less...) but the beginning is proving to be exceedingly difficult. It worked so well in my head, I'm dumbfounded it's so hard to actually write. It doesn't help that I've recently learned I can't write children to save my life. Ah well, onward I go...
