Except for the whole staying 'til eight thing, but life could be worse.

Day started out rather shitty; I was thisclose to throwing in the towel and telling FBT & Ikon to go fuck themselves. The only thing that sucks worse than being blamed for last night's adventure? Is having the man who should've defended you side with the enemy. Thanks for caring, psuedo boss. I now despise you.

But bought some books at lunch. Is anyone surprised? If you are, you must be new here and so hello and welcome ^_^ Anyway, bought Saiyuki 8, the paperback for This Rough Magic and I won't torment y'all with my hardcore fangirling of that series again, *and* I found a cool book in which a gardener apparently falls for the Duke of Buckingham. Will link it later, as am at work and should be doing worklike things.

But other good things? Random words of kindness from total stranger and helping out a secretary who is actually not a heinous bitch (she was going to take this package herself because she "wasn't sure which floor it went to" which O_o me.

All right, it's tea time. black, green or chamomile?

Black. You're staying until 8 after all.

And that really, really sucks about your boss. You shouldn't have done it in the first place. The contract states what you're supposed to do.

*hugs* Come down to see me, and I'll make it all better!

Okay... you'll have to explain to me how it could be your fault when the person gave you the package late and you did everything in your power to try and contact them so the package got there on time. WTF?

It was explained to me thus:

J (the secretary) called up (and I made note of the times, that's how sure I was that things would go wrong) at 4:21 and said she'd have something for us. K told her okay.

J came up at 4:57. I asked her if there wold be someone, she said no, blah blah so on and so forth

*apparently* I should have A) called J at 4:45 or some such and verify she still had something to go to whatever place. B) *I* should have called the firm to ask if there was someone there.

That's why it's my fault.

(Nevermind that it's not my goddamn job to babysit the secretaries or to do their job for them)

Of course it's your job to babysit them Meggie. The secretaries babysit their bosses and you babysit the secretaries. Corporations are nothing but very large daycares for adults. :)
