Installed the new drive that came today. Before it just refused to read the d drive.

Now? It doesn't even say I have one.

Where did you get your drive from?

Don't know how much good I could do, given my high mark is almost installing my own hard drive.
It would have worked too if I had owned the proper screwdriver to take my case apart.
What I'm trying to say is almost anyone would be better at it than me, but I have nothing better to do.

Off the top of my head, are you sure the switch that controls the master/slave function is set to what you want (normally the plastic plug that fits over some pins in a certain way)?

My home computer transformed into a paperweight weds night, so last night was playing with the hardware to finally find out the problem & re-installing windows, since the crash had fucked up some system files so windows wouldn't boot anymore. I'm still down a harddrive at the moment, though hopefully I'll get that fixed this evening.

I could probably check it for you sometime this weekend. Give me a time that's good for you guys & a phone number for me to call to make sure you guys are there.
